Two girls with no names - DECISION made - see pg. 2
by ashmomof2 on Wed Aug 19, 2009 1:22 am
We have two children; Everett Barnaby (3) and Margaret Clancy (we call her Maggie) (17 months). Barnaby, Margaret and Clancy are famiy names.
We need help with our twin girls due in December. Thus far we like:
Penelope
Grace - I don't like the popularity though
Audrey
Beatrix
Anna
Seraphina - heard this from Jennifer garner and really like it, but don't like that it is Hollywood associated
Family names:
Catherine
Emmeline
Violet
Mariam
Stewart
Elizabeth
Jules
We are open to anything at this point! With a 3 year old and 1 1/2 year old, clearly I don't even have the time to think. Our first two were relatively easy to name, but this has proven to be very difficult. My husband is pretty easy, but I just can't come up with anything I like.
I've been on here several times over the last month - which is where I came up with Beatrix - and I don't need long lists, just opinions of the names I've picked and names that you would suggest that fit within our style. I very much appreciate it.

I think that Beatrix and Penelope would be adorable names for your twin girls:
Penelope Violet and Beatrix Catherine
Penelope Violet and Beatrix Elizabeth
Penelope Violet and Beatrix Emmeline
Good luck!

Wow! I LOVE your kids' names! :-)
Penelope: I really love Penelope, and think it's great with your kids' names. I love the nicknames Poppy and Nell. (I love the Penelope Violet suggestion!) :-) It's not on your list, but I love Penelope Jane, too.
Grace: Like you, I love the name, but am bothered by the popularity.
Audrey: I love Audrey, but if popularity bothers you, I don't know how you feel about Audrey being #44 in popularity now.
Beatrix: LOVE! If you're not set on it as a first name, I think Eliza Beatrix would be a great combo, incorporating Elizabeth from your list.
Anna: I love Anna, but it's very popular. (I love Annabelle, too!)
Seraphina: I think that the other names you've listed are better fits with Everett and Margaret.
Family names:
Catherine: Love...
Emmeline: I really love Emmeline despite the popularity of Emma and Emily.
Violet: LOVE!
Mariam: I think it's pretty, but I prefer some of the other lovely names you've listed.
Stewart: Very cool...
Elizabeth: I love Elizabeth (and Eliza!)
Jules: I I really love Julia and Juliet
Some more names you may like with Everett and Margaret:
Annabelle
Alice
Blythe
Celia
Clementine (nn Cleo)
Cora/Cordelia
Diana (less popular than Anna)
Frances
Felicity
Josephine
Juliet
Louisa
Lucy
Phoebe
Rose
Susannah
Tess
From your list, Beatrix and Penelope are my favorites! :-)
Best wishes to you!

I love the suggestions for combos above so won't add more, but will just say that Beatrix and Penelope stood out straight away for me as well.
Good luck! :)

Juliet
Juliana*
July
Fiona (feels similar to Seraphina to me) *
Violetta
Viola
{My computer is freaking out...restart and i'll brb! :)
Okay, I'm back! Whew! :)}
Suggestions Cont.:
Stella (sorta feels like Stewart and Violetta combined)
Ianthe (means purple...like violet!)
Elise (instead of Elizabeth)
Eloise (ditto)
Eliza (ditto)
Gray (great in the middle...super close to Grace since its becoming overused in the middle)
Graciela
Carissa (means "grace")
Anita (ditto)
Charis (ditto)*
Gianna (ditto)
Other thoughts:
I think Mia and Miriam is too close to be sisters, but Miriam could definitley go in the middle.
I adore Emmeline :)
If I had to pick twin names from your list I'd choose Violet Grace and Emmeline Jules/Juliet

Seraphina and Beatrix sound nicest, in my opinion. And I think they'd go well with your other kids.

Wow! Your children's names are very beautiful! Everett is a favourite of mine.
Of your choices, I like Penelope Violet and Beatrix Catherine.
I like another's suggestion of using Eliza in subsitute of Elizabeth. I also agree that while Grace and Audrey are very pretty, they are both quite popular.
Everett, Maggie, Poppy/Nell, Bea/Bess
Best of luck to you! Please let us know what you name them.

Penelope -not my personal taste, but goes well with Margaret and Everett
Grace -very pretty and very popular, but if you love it, go for it
Audrey -pretty but I think others are better with Margaret
Beatrix -not my personal taste, but a great match
Anna -see Grace
Seraphina -I don't immeadiately think of Jennifer Garner, it's gorgeous. Have you considered Seraphine? It goes a bit better with Everett and Margaret, actually/
Family names:
Catherine -I've known so many Katies and Katherines that it feels stale
Emmeline -very pretty, but you would have two E names
Violet -love it, fantastic match, but it would set you up with "et" endings
Mariam -okay, not a stand-out to me
Stewart -don't like it on a girl
Elizabeth -good match, but again, you woud have two E names
Jules -cute but I like it better as a nn for ie: Julia, Juliet
I really love Violet. But as I said, it sets you up with three "et" endings, and therefore you may want all four ending that way (a little matching is cute). I love Violet and Juliet but I know it's not on your list. So, I'd have to say Penelope and Beatrix work.
