Olive & Kit's sister coming Friday and still no name HELP!
by olivekit on Wed Jul 22, 2009 6:52 pm
Okay, ladies. Last post. I need your best suggestions of first and middle names for a girl. I got a lot of great suggestions for first names (which my husband vetoed most of them), but no middle names so just tell me your favorite combinations and maybe one of them will fit when I meet her and I get my hubby agrees to it. My only requirement is that they go with Olive and Kit's names.
Courtney Olive
Kit Aurora
You guys have been great and if it weren't for my pig headed husband, she might actually be named. :)
My favorites from the other list are Mae, Thea, Phoebe, Lulu, & Miri to give you an idea of what I like and Hubby hates. ;) Thanks!!!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time! I will put my thinking cap on.
Anna - sorry, I know this is kind of boring, but I'm trying hard to find something that your husband would like. My husband loves Anna.
Alice
Beatrix nn Trixie or Bea or Bee
Bianca - maybe I suggested this before, sorry, but nn could be Bee
Brenna, this is kind of dated but I really love it.
Celia
Celeste
Claire
Clover
Daisy
Danica
Dia - means "day" in Spanish. I call my kitty Dia sometimes
Edith nn Edie
Flora
Frances nn Franny or Francie
Gemma
Georgia
Ginger - I just love Ginger
Hadley
Harper
Helena nn Lena or Nell
Hollis
Hope
Ida
Iris
Ivy
Jacqueline nn Jackie
Jane - Jane is a great name and not very common. I really love Jane, and I would have named my own daughter Jane, but it was already taken by my cousin.
Lainie, nn for Elaine
Leona - my fave lately! You are welcome to it.
Lucy - so cute
Maisie
Murphy
Norah
Paloma
Piper
Regi, a nn for Regina
Rose nn Rosie
Ruby
Ruth nn Ruthie
Saffron
Sage
Stella
Taia - we knew this family from England that seemed pretty upper crusty, and their daughter was named Taia pronounced TAY-ah. I know you're desperate, so I'm trying to list everything I can think of. Taia from England was very spunky and cool.
Talia
Tansy
Tova
Tula
Twyla
Uma
Vera
Viola
Violet
Zandra nn Zandie
I probably already listed most of these before. Hopefully not. Tell us a first name you love or the middle name you will use as your daughter's main name, and then we will think of middle or first names. I know that sounds confusing, but you know what I mean.

I really like Beatrix Jane... you could call her Bix or Bixie among many other nicknames for Beatrix! Good luck! I know how hard it can be :)

This is a GREAT way to think of a name. Look up Drexel Heritage Furniture on Google. When you get to the Drexel Heritage website look up furniture in the website. You can look up individual furniture or styles of furniture. The French furniture has great names. So does Postobello. The upholstered couches and chairs also have wonderful names.
Another website that is useful for finding names is Maine Cottage Furniture. Look it up on Google. Same thing. A lot of their furniture has wonderful names, especially the couches and chairs.
The furniture is expensive, but the names are free!

Interesting tip, Susan.
I thought of another idea - pitch some really gross names or totally oddball. Then come back to your list, they will sound a lot better to your husband.
Hopefully, he won't find appeal in any of the disturbing ones, Spoona, telephone (pronounced as like Penelope or Persephone). Cashewnut. Motley. Caffeine. Lawn. If you think there's a risk, then go back to Susan's idea! Then go to sleep and maybe she will tell you her name. Hope she doesn't like Lawn. Good luck!
