Don't like it, way too last name for me. I know you're thinking of Leonard Cohen from another thread. I love Leonard actually. I think those names with consonant-d end are going to come back in style. Very serious names. Love some of them like Bernard, Rosamond. Don't love Maynard. Feel so-so about Arnold.
Leonard nn Leo is great! But be warned because it is supposedly out of style. I argue though that it is so far out it's coming back in soon. Along with Sigmund nn Ziggy.

I know in the other thread I said I liked it... but the more I think about, the more I don't like it. Sorry! I really think Leonard would be a great alternative, though! And his middle name is Norman, what do you think of that?
Susan, Sigmund nn Ziggy is a brilliant idea! You should have seen my eyes light up when I read that! Very cool!

Not fond of Cohen. It's a Jewish surname denoting priest, so it's in the same category as other "titled" names "Deacon, Bishop, King, Prince). Bah.

Hooray for Sigmund nn Ziggy! I think I got that idea a long time ago from Lola when she was posting to Joel Somebody, a writer at Time Magazine about his son.

i LOVE this name! It's probably one of my top 3 favorite boy's names.
It's uncommon, cool, modern, etc.
I just wish I could convince my husband to use it for our son's name =/

Please see the post in this forum titled "Which One?". Cohen isn't a modern name, but an old, old Jewish name with deep religious meaning (a Cohen is a Jewish priest) to many Jewish people. Suffice it to say, its usage on non-Jewish babies may be considered offensive to many Jewish people.
As Pam and Linda wrote of Cohen on Nameberry, it's used by parents who are ignorant of its meaning.

I wouldn't use it for several reasons.
1. too popular
2. now I am aware of significance in jewish community
