brother or sister name??

Hello!

We want to get some opinions on the names we have picked out. We don't really want to say anything to our family since they think our daughter's name, Miriam, is too weird. So what do you think to go with big sister Miriam Katherine?

Wilhelmina "Willa" Margarett (pronounced Margarete, after my grandmother)

Silas Randolph (Randolph a family name)

Dominick Atticus (but he would go by Atticus)


I like Willa just as the name, but hubby thinks it's too nickname-y by itself. Either way, she would be called Willa. But, is it too much name?

Dominick is a common first name in my family, so we want to use it for tradition sake, but have him go by Atticus.

And Silas Randolph is our "boy" name from our first pregnancy since we leave the gender a surprise!

What about the names? Any other suggestions. Jean is another middle name possibility for a girl, too!

I agree with your DH about Willa. It seems like a nickname. Wilhelmina is a good full name. Alternatives could be Whitney,Willow, Winona, Winifred, and Wioletta (pronounced Vi-oh-let-ah).

I like Silas for a boy as well. Dislike Dominick and really, really dislike Atticus. It sounds like the name of some creepy old guy who lives in a weird house that all the kids are afraid of and dare each other to try to get into on Halloween.

I like Silas with Miriam quite a lot. I also think Atticus is a cool name and Atticus and Miriam aren't bad together, but I'd consider doing Atticus Dominick instead of the other way around.

I'm lukewarm on Wilhelmina. From the previous poster's list above, for a girl I like:
