I love it! I've been thinking about Dorothy a lot lately, because of Elmo's fish on Sesame Street, which we watch at our house. If I were pregnant, it would be on my list for sure.

I also LOVE it! it is on our list. Well Dotty is but I think Dorthy in reality. Even if you did not want her to have a nickname I think it works I don't think it is any more grandmaish than Charlotte.

Reminds me of my great-great aunt that I loved dearly as a child, we called her Aunt Dodo, hehe. I love the name!

I love it. I strongly considered it for baby girl #4. I think it's ready for a comeback and that it has a retro stylish vibe going for it.

Dorothy is such a classic and beautiful name. It's on my top five, for sure. I don't think it's too "old lady"; rather, I think it's a name that she'll easily grow into and that will work at any stage of life.

    Other NN options: Dory, Doe.

Love it! Go for it. It definitely can sound young now. Dottie is a super cute nickname, and with your grandmother and love for Wizard of Oz, it sounds like a name you'll never regret.

Sorry I can only relate to old ladies with this name and I think it is lack lustre anyway, boring. I think Dorothea is much better much more pizzazz and energy.

I would grimace and feel sorry for a Dorothy.

    rollo
