I did not see Iker making that jump! I feel really proud about it for some strange reason, but I am CRINGING because during international football tournaments, American and Canadian and British announcers don't pronounce Iker correctly so the idea that there probably are so many little "eye-kurr"s running around just... ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I love that Elsie and June were used more this past year. Adorable names!
Nothing really stood out to me for the boys, apart from Iker... Maximiliano is pretty unexpected to be that big of a jumper, and wth is Brantley?
My brother's name is the biggest dropper, lol.
Well, I know how I'm spending the rest of my night, haha.Lucia

I was also pleased to see that Hezekiah jumped 48 places from 925 to 877. It's not actually listed on the link with changes in popularity, though.

I do not see Louisa in the top 1000. Not sure if you tried this but if not, I go to the top 1000 list, hit ctrl+f, and search for the name. Sometimes you have to hit the next or previous buttons because it will go to say, Ariana instead of Ian, since "ian" is in the name Ariana. Again, not sure if you tried that but if so, there's a little hint for everyone else!

Me, too! I'm so happy about Avery.
It's one of the few unisex names that I think is truly usable for boys still, despite its huge popularity for girls.
I didn't really notice Elliot for boys (although I did notice it's doing pretty well!), but Elliot is now listed for the girls! I was so disappointed, haha. I think it was in the 700s, too, so a fairly big leap! Esme and Flynn are also listed, which, I believe they were unlisted before.
I was pretty shocked that Evelyn (especially Evelyn!) and Charlotte are now in the top 30, too. I knew they would rise, but I didn't think they'd rise that fast. And I didn't really think Mason would be number 2--not yet! I figured it might be number 8 or 9, but not number 2...
I was disappointed by Violet, too... I knew it would jump since it's so well-loved, but 101?
That makes me sad.
I am thrilled with Isabelle, though, that dropped 9 spots. It seems to be dropping bit by bit, from 100 to 105 and now down to 114. It would be lovely if it was down to about 150 by the time I'm ready to use it!

It's in the lower 800s for girls. If it makes you feel any better, there were more girls named Princess in 2011 than there were girls named Elliot, lol. On the other hand, there were almost 10x as many boys born named Elliot and Elliott. It is such a widely recognized boys name that I don't think we have anything to worry about. It's still my top choice for a boy!
And I'm thinking that Avery might enter the list as a middle.
Yeah, I feel your pain on Violet. Sophie is one of my top girls names, and with the popularity of Sophia, Sofia, and Sophie... both Violet and Sophie are still on my list, though.Elliot ~ Silas ~ Henry ~ Lazarus ~ Samuel

Thank you for the responses regarding the name Louisa. I am thrilled it's not in the top 1000. It's always been my favorite but when I mentioned it to my mother once - a long time ago - she said: 'don't even think about it - everyone will call her "Weezy." Which, to this day, I maintain is ridiculous! Thanks all!

I believe that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
