I come from a family where my nephew is "the fifth" - They usually just call him Sammy (my brother is Sam-- he was Sammy as a kid as my dad was the Sam in the house, etc.) However, when I was younger, I used to call my brother I.V. so I think the nn "V" could work. I LOVE your idea of Morrison! I think that works perfectly. I understand that alot of people go by their middle name, but I'm more of a fan of traditional nicknames and I think it becomes a hassle to a child if they are constantly being asked to be called by a name other than their given name... like in school for example. He'll be called Morris on role call and every year he has to say "Oh, I go by my mn, Alfred." Seems like it would be annoying to me. If he went by Morrison at home, he could easily use the name Morris in a more formal setting.

So Morrison and V are my suggestions. Five, Quentin, Quent, Quinn, Quint also work.

I really don't like Jr names, I think every child should have their own name and identity. Stepping off my soapbox... I would have him go by Alfred. It's a little old-manish, but I think it would work just fine.

I'd be inclined to use his middle name. Stick with the tradition of Morris Alfred and then call your son either Alfred or a variation of that. I personally think Alfie is a fabulous name!
