Calliope and Delilah are both wonderful choices. I voted Calliope as it seems that bit fresher and more unexpected, but I honestly love both. Calliope nn Calla/Callie or Delilah nn Lilah/Della - both would be gorgeous!

Carleigh, especially spelled this way, seems dated and trendy to me. Not a fan sorry. Carly is such a name of generation (I'm 26) in fact it was a name my mum considered for me. Carlisle is interesting, and I certainly don't hate it, but it's far more unisex and not so much my style. As far as unisex names go, it's not a bad one, except that it does remind me of Carly also.

If you don't have a middle name picked out, Delilah Carlisle would be a very cool combo, or Calliope Lilah.

    Best of luck and congrats!

Thanks so much everyone! We have eliminated Carlisle and Carleigh (I'm not a big fan of Carleigh, but I threw it in their because my husband is fixated on it). I think we are getting close to a decision. It is just so hard to choose!

I love Delilah, as she has beautiful nicknames: Lilah or Lily, if that helps.

    1 Calliope
    2 Delilah

The other two choices either sound too "dated" (Carleigh) or too masculine (Carlisle).
    All the best,

Delilah is lovely. I've only met one, a woman in her 40s. I just don't have the guts to use it, my family would have a conniption.

Calliope just doesn't sound pretty. Have you seen the Cinderella movie with Whitney Houston and Brandy? Brandy's/Cinderella's stepsisters are named Calliope and Minerva. They weren't awful but I just remember the shrill way the stepmother (Bernadette Peters) said their names

I would go with Calliope. It's such a pretty name with a great meaning and history. It's legitimate, but unusual. Approachable, but unique and fresh.

Carleigh is very 80's baby, and Delilah's day in the sun is coming to an end. Carlisle is very harsh sounding to my ears.

Calliope is so fun and pretty. Its definitely the best one! Delilah is pretty too, but I think it still carries a weighty biblical stereotype.

I would have voted for Carly or Carlie, but Carleigh is terrible, sorry.

I voted for Delilah. I used to hate the name because of that song. A friend of mine named his little girl this, and she is adorable! Made me think of the name differently. Carlisle is way too masculine IMO and Calliope is ok. I just worry about pronunciation. I think I pronounced it wrong for a while!

I love the name Calliope but I take issue with the way most people pronounce it. The proper Greek pronunciation is ca-lee-OH-pee. Unless you plan to pronounce it this way, my vote is for Delilah.
