Names from Older British Children's Literature

I know there has been a lot of talk on these threads about people's favorite names from literature as a whole. But I wanted to draw special attention to some of my favorites, which I feel have been overlooked in the shuffle: names from British children's literature written pre-1960. I'm a huge fan of Edith Nesbit's books and the character names therein...and also of the Chronicles of Narnia (C.S. Lewis actually took a lot of his writing inspiration from Nesbit's work!).

Here are some of the best:

From Five Children and It (by Nesbit):
    Anthea
    Jane
    Robert
    Cyril
    Hillary (boy)

    From The Railway Children (Nesbit):
    Phyllis
    Peter
    Roberta (nn Bobbie)

From The Chronicles of Narnia (Lewis):
    Digory
    Polly
    Helen
    Peter
    Susan
    Edmund
    Lucy
    Jill
    Eustace
    Harold
    Alberta

What are some other names from British books in this category?

The only British children's literature I have read is The Secret Garden. The names I can remember from that are Mary, Colin, and Dicken. I think I like Colin best out of the three.
    Also, love Edmund!

I'm reading The Enchanted Wood to my kids atm starring Jo, Bessie and Fanny. I do wonder why Jo not Joe? Is the 'e' an Americanisation?
