Third on the way! Still can't decide on a name....

Hi! I am due to give birth to our third child in 6 weeks, but we still haven't settled on a name. My cousin suggested I try this site, so I jumped on to ask for your suggestions and opinions! We do not know the gender of the baby yet, so we need to decide on both.

Big sister is Evangeline Winter (nn "Evie") and big brother is Reuben Lake. Our surname begins with a D and ends in ly. I would like to avoid names beginning with D, even though one of my favorite choices is Dexter! Reuben would have been named Harper, had he been a girl, but now with the Beckham baby being Harper and the sudden rise we are not so hot on it anymore.

If possible I would like to follow the trend of a nature-y middle name. We've no family names we wish to recycle. So far for a girl, I really love Genevieve. But it also has the nn evie, so would this get confusing for strangers assuming she was Evie? I can't think of any other nn's for it and i really dislike "Gen".

Names that have been thrown around. We seem to be sticking with quite vintage-y sounding girls names to pair with Evangeline but i'd love some more modern/unusual suggestions that might go with Evie and Reuben's names?

    Boys:
Isaiah - DH loves this but I think it quite boring
    Felix
    Theodore - My fave
    Indiana - is this useable?
    Asa - too short?
    Beckett

    Girls:
    Ariel/Ariella
    Isabelle/Isadora - Too common?
Coraline/Coralie/Coral - I don't know what I prefer, the nn Cora or Coral
Valentina - not sure on this, DH suggested it last night

I love all your name choices, wow! I agree though, I think Genevieve should be avoided if you're going to be nicknaming them.

Evangeline, Reuben and Theodore or Evangeline, Reuben and Beckett for the boys set

Evangeline, Reuben and Coralie for the girls set.

Have you thought about Guinevere? It's a form of Genevieve as they are all related and connected to Jennifer, Gwendeolyn, etc. You could do Gwen as a nickname. I see that you have Isabella or Isadora Ariel/Ariella for girls and Asa on the listfor boys. What about Arabella? Ara for short? Or Allister for a boy? Love love love Theodore. Very cute.

I love Valentina and I think it goes nicely with Evangeline.

Love the names you are considering!

    Welcome to Nameberry!

I quite like Felix, Theodore and Asa from your boys' list - and no, I don't think Asa is too short. Isaiah is okay, but I've met several little Isaiahs recently and it just seems like it's getting very common. Beckett's nice but a little too trendy, I think, with Evangeline and Reuben. I'm not really sure how I feel about Indiana, to be honest, but my instinct would be "no" because of Indiana Jones.

From your girls' list, my favorites are Coralie and Valentina. I'm not a big fan of Ariel and its variations, and Isabelle, though lovely, is also very common. Isadora could maybe work, but it always makes me think of Dora the Explorer.

    Some ideas:

    Agatha
    Beatrix
    Bettina
    Dahlia
    Hazel
    Helena
    Prisca
    Vivian

    Asher
    Cecil
    Frederick
    Gale
    Roscoe

Oh, I love Theodore! I think that's my stand out favorite of your boys choices. For girls, I agree you should probably shelf Genevieve. I really like all of the names on your list, but I think Isadora is my favorite with Ariel close behind. Isadora has really grown on me over the past months and I would definitely consider it for one of my own. Great choices!
    Current loves: Theodore & Rosalind

    Mommy to Arabella and Jude

Evangeline, Reuben & Theodore is a wonderful sibset, if #3 is a boy!

I agree that Evie is often a nn for Genevieve, although I've heard Viv as a nn for it too. Which leads me to suggest Vivian/Vivienne as an alternative.

I think Coral is an adorable nn for Coraline. And if you go with Guienevere, Winnie can be used a nn, which is too cute!

Some other girl suggestions that would work with your sibset:

    Camilla
    Corinne
    Lucienne
    Mirabelle

    Good luck!

    Boys:
Isaiah - I love this name- you could also think of Micah, Noah, Adam- all traditional and biblical
Felix - this would sound great with Evie and Reuban, I think
Theodore - love this name! It's one of my favorites
    Indiana - nms at all
Asa - maybe a bit too short, but I don't really think so... it is a great name with biblical roots that is unusual and beautiful while also sounding masculine...again, one of my favorite names
Beckett -- this is kind of trendy, kind of classic to me, but I don't like it as much as Asa and Theodore

    Girls:
Ariel/Ariella - I would use Ariel over Ariella, but I don't really like either of them
Isabelle/Isadora - both popular but still beautiful
Coraline/Coralie/Coral - I like Coralie the most, I think- and I love the nn Cora...Cora, Evie and Rueban sound beautiful together!
    Valentina - nms

    Clara, Nora
Penelope - lots of nn- Penny, Poppy, Nellie/Nell

Hello one of my favourite Biblical boy's names is Jeremiah I love the sound of it and it would be awesome with Reuben.

I think Amos tops Asa as a short Biblical name it is much more edgy imo. Combo of Amos Beckett.

Wouldn't Jemima be beautiful for a lovely daughter? Jemima Alice
    or Jemima Mary.

    or

    Esther Marion
    Caroline Ysabella

    or

    Adele Coraline
    Juliet Matilda
    Serena Verity
    Anneliese Victoria
    Sybil Clementine

I love your kids names! From the lists you provided I really like Indiana, Asa or Theodore for a boy (Evie, Reuben and Teddy, so cute!) For a girl my favorite is Valentina. Beckett, Isabelle/Isadora and the Cora- names you listed all seem a bit trendy in comparison to the more classic choices you already have. Ariel/Ariella seems a bit dated. Felix is nice, but just not a name I personally have ever liked for whatever reason. Personally I think Indiana is perfectly usable. Some other ideas:
    Gwendolyn
    Octavia
    Arabella
    Melisande
    Antonia
    Meredith
    Adelaide
    Felicity
    Katerina
    Phoebe
    Bronwyn
    Olwen
    Jacinda

    Baxter
    Abram
    Ephraim
    Gideon
    Solomon
    Jerome
    Graham
    Evander
    Ingram
    Tobin
