well, if you wife doesn't like Abel, here's some others:

    Ezra
    Ira
    Enoch
    Asa
    Micah

What names does your wife like the most?

-boyandgirl-I like Abel, wife likes Boone. Isn't Archer some kind of cartoon now?

-jessicat11-I guess the reason I like Abel, besides that I like the way it sounds with Ada and Ervin, is that since I have Kane in my name, maybe he will be better at things where I fall short ( I know in the Bible it is Cain). I do like old fashion names, like Ada. I started out with Abraham, or I was just going to go with plain old Abe. What do you think about Abe Ervin? But she wasn't feeling that either, I thought that Abe and Ada sounded pretty good together. I added a L and that is how I got on the Abel kick.

My favorite baseball teams are the Cubs and Reds, but every player I have liked just doesn't seem to work.
    >Ernie Banks=Ernie Ervin, used to be a Nascar driver
    >Sammy Sosa=Sen. Sam Ervin from Watergate trials, from about 30 minutes away from here.
    >Johnny Bench=how do you use Bench?
    >Hack Wilson=single season RBI record, how do you use Hack?
    >I always said I would use Wrigley growing up, but have backed down from that.
I have been thinking about Cobb, just not sure, he sure wasn't a very nice guy. Wife likes Cal, but to me that is too close to Kyle.
Satchel just seems like a pretty cool name.

As far as just using McKane as a name, a lot of people have told me they like it, and it sounds good. I'm not a fan of Mc-capital letter names, even though I have one. It just seems like you are indecisive on what to do, my wife says I'm goofy.

-rachel27-Probably what she has on her list right now would be, Boone, Mack, Clark, Ollie

One more, I suggested Erv (or Irv) Ervin to her, but she didn't run out and have the birth certificate printed!

    My recommendation is ...

Ada [and] Obie [or] Otto [vs. Ollie]

... a sibset comprised of short vintage German vowel names.

    Additional German recommendations:

Bruno [or] Emil [or] Gus [or] Hugo [or] Norbert [or] Oberon/Obie

I like Ervin, and Ervin and Ada are so cute together!
I know a little boy named Irvine (ER-vine), and I think that's pretty cute too.
I also like the suggestion of Hugo! Hugo is one of my guilty pleasures. So cute!
    Good luck!
