    Rita

How does everyone feel about Rita? I have taken a real liking to it recently. Does it sound too old fashioned or fresh enough to com back? I have also been thnking about using Verity and using Vera and Rita as NNs, opinions?

I actually like Rita. It's... jaunty is the word I'd use to describe it. As a given name it was in the Top 100 from 1914 to 1960, so the beginning part of that is close to the Hundred Year Rule. I've considered it in the past as a nickname for Norita, which was my wonderful great-grandma's name. I think it works for Verity.

I work with a little girl (I think she's 7) Whose middle name is Rita. She is so bouncy and happy and full of life that I can't help but have that kind of association with the name.

I think Vera and Rita both work as nicknames for Verity too.

I actually like the name, I think its unexpected, easy to spell and pronounce, but not popular at all these days.

I love it. It's cute/short/spunky which I love, but it's also a little sophisticated and seductive cause of Rita Hayworth so I think it could age well. I love Vera as well, but I think Rita is much more unexpected. I don't really like Verity, though. I think both Vera and Rita could stand on their own.

I really, really like Rita, and have thought of using it myself. I also like Verity, and Rita as a nickname works fine. I'm not so enamored of Vera, personally--the long "e" makes it nasally sounding, to my ear.

    Thanks!

I cannot decide if I want to do Verity with Rita and Vera as NNs or if I want to do Vera and Rita individually and just nix Verity all together.

To be honest, it's one of my least favorite names, along with Nina. I just don't like the sound of it.
