    Brother for Edmund Henry?

This is all hypothetical, we haven't started TTC yet, but we have decided on our top choice for the first boy: Edmund Henry, or possibly Edmund Theodore Henry. I absolutely love it, Edmund is my favourite name of all time. Unfortunately, I feel like this choice rules out lots of my other favourites, so I'm really worried about any future boys. For example, Frederick and Wilfred are off the table, because I can't risk having an Eddie and a Freddie! Also, soo many of my favourites share a similar -u sound/pattern, like Arthur, Wilbur, Duncan, Hugh; how big a problem do you think this is?

I've included a poll with some of our options for a possible brother. It would be amazing if you could vote and then give feedback about your thoughts more generally (even any other suggestions?). Ideally, we're looking for a masculine, classic/traditional, yet unconventional, name with a more common nickname. Our full list is below if any kind soul wants to comment on them individually:
    Wilbur nn Will
    Calvin
    Arthur
    Duncan
    Hugh
    August nn Gus
    Leopold nn Leo
    Samson nn Sam
    Jonah nn Joe
    Walter nn Walt
    Wilford nn Will (family name)
    Wilfred nn Will
    Frederick nn Fritz
    Otto
    Piers
    Vincent
    Ivan Charles nn Ike
    Abraham nn Bram
    Bertram nn Bram
    Gregory nn Rory/Grey
    Albert

Thanks for any and all help!

    I like your names!

Wilbur nn Will - Definitely time to bring back this classic, imo.
Calvin - Not such a fan of this one.
Arthur - Love Arthur, but I think you'd have to choose either Arthur or Wilbur.
Duncan - Has a similar sound to Edmund. I think it's the "-un-" bit.
Hugh - A great name. Have you considered Hugo?
August nn Gus - Seems to be getting more popular lately.
Leopold nn Leo - I prefer Leon or just Leo.
Samson nn Sam - This one seems a little different in style to the others. I prefer Samuel with your other names.
    Jonah nn Joe - Cute.
Walter nn Walt - This one seems less masculine to me because of the weedy Walter character who gets bullied by Dennis the Menace.
Wilford nn Will (family name) - Nice! Different and works really well as a first name.
Wilfred nn Will - I like this Will-name too!
Frederick nn Fritz - I agree, Freddie is more likely as a nn.
Otto - Not really my style.
    Piers - Classic English!
Vincent - Underused, but very strong name. Love it.
Ivan Charles nn Ike - Not so sure about this one.
Abraham nn Bram - Love the nn Bram.
Bertram nn Bram - How about Bernard?
Gregory nn Rory/Grey - I love Gregory, but would you not use the nn Greg?
Albert - nn Albie is cute! And how about Alfred?

With regards to the -u sound/pattern, I think Edmund and Duncan are a little too similar (but not unusable together). Edmund would be fine with Arthur/Wilbur or Hugh though.

Admiring your naming style; I'm fond of many of the names you've listed here.

Could you manage eight boys ? My sibset recommendation is ...

    01. Arthur Hugh/Hugo
    02. Bertram Charles
    03. Calvin Frederick
    04. Edmund Piers
    05. Jonah Whittaker
    06. Leopold Spencer
    07. Theodore Henry
    08. Vincent Walter

eskay- thanks so much for your comments, they really confirmed my own thoughts! Arthur was my number two for a long time, but it's getting quite popular here now and I don't really like Art as a nn. Very sad to let Duncan go
lori- Haha, not sure about 8 boys! I'm trying to plan 3 names altogether. I really like the Bertram Charles/Calvin Frederick combos! On Hugo, it's quite trendy here in the UK, so I much prefer Hugh. Thanks a lot!

    Any other thoughts?

I voted Arthur, but I also want to vote Duncan. They are both great names, and I think would work extremely well with Edmund Henry. Gotta say, great name!
Blessed to be a mother of 5.

My dashing fellows: Aidan Mackenzie (12 yrs) and Remy Forrester (resting in heaven)

My dahling daughters: Ava Dulcea (5 yrs), Mia Isobel (2yrs) and Gemma Hermione (just joining us!).

Thanks, everyone! This has really helped narrow down our list: I think Arthur, Leopold, Walter, Hugh and Wilbur/Wilford are the top contenders now.
gigigibbons- Just want to say that I really love the combos in your signature, they've made me start crushing on Elsa and Henrik!

I love Edmund and Leopold. Both are clunky cool, rarely heard, regal choices.
