I think its funny your family thinks Rosaline sounds made up as it appears in Shakespeare. I love Rosaline (ROZE-e-Line), I don't like it as much pronounced (ROZE-eh-LEEN). Rosalie is nice, but I can see where you are coming from. To me, though, it reminds me more of an Italian food brand or the name of a pizzeria. You might also like Roseliese (ROZE-e-LEES), I have also seen it spelled Roselise.

Rosaline is usually pronounced ROZ-a-line, not ROSE-a-line, at least in Love's Labour's Lost.

I must prefer it, just for that connection, to Rosalie, though both are lovely!
