    nn Roe

I like the name Monroe- especially the nn that comes with it Roe. But I have had a lot of negative feedback here with the name Monroe for a girl. Does anyone have a good name that can get the nn Roe?

Monroe was one of our choices for a boys mn, so I see where many are coming from. It reads all boy to me. However, Ro/Roe is a cute nn for a little girl. I've recently been in love with Rosetta, with the possibility of calling her Ro. Really, any Rose name could be a Ro.
    Current loves: Theodore & Rosalind

Yeah I understand where people are coming from. It's just my taste goes against most here, in that I enjoy surnames or more boyish names on girls. My first choice right now is Landry Kate. So i dont know if Rose will fit

Roisin (pr. ro-sheen) would be cute, as would Rowena. I also like Rosemary and Rosamund.

Since you like more boyish options for the nn Roe, what about Rowan, Robin, Rory, Rogan, Romilly, Rhodes, Rosslyn, Romy, Romney, Morrow, Aeron, Rowley, Rooney, Roscoe, Rowland or even Sparrow.

Oh I don't know why I didn't say this before: I don't actually dislike Roe as a standalone name. A roe is a kind of deer. It's a bit of a pretty but short nature name, Roe.

Rowan? I like that better for a girl than Monroe.

I love the nn Roe! I was going to use it for a boy though with Ronan or Jethro. I think it would also work in the middle spot as just Roe (or first name spot, my hubby just won't go for it as a first name ;-) I like it for the roe deer reference.

I didnt like Monroe until I heard it with the nn Ro.
That's my only issue though, for some reason Ro without the e seems like a cute nickname to me (For Rose, Rosemary, Monroe, etc..) while Roe with an e is something in my sushi roll.
