I don't really hate any name because that is a strong word and it is just a name. Names I would say I don't like (Don't be offended anyone):

-Names that are misspelled, this is my biggest pet peeve. I know we want to be unique but it immediately looks uneducated.
-Some place names like London, Paris and Brooklyn (Especially when Brooklyn is spelled Brookelynn. )
-Popular names of the 80's, because those are people that I went to school with and they just need to taper off and stop being used.
-Aphrodite: I saw this name in the Gerber Generation contest. Why would you want to name your daughter after a goddess who was stuck up and selfish? What a great namesake. I usually don't like out there mythological names.
-Samantha, Lauren, Brittney, Jessica, Hillary: all of these names are names of girls who tortured me in school. Not good associations.
-Really masculine names on girls, like Matthew or Timothy.
-Names that are either only popular because a celebrity has used it, or has skyrocket popularity within a year or two when it was never on the popularity list. This can depend though, but mostly I don't like names in those categories.
-Clementine and Susanna(h): Don't hate me. I know these are very popular on this site, but I just don't like them. They make me think of the songs, and that would be all I would think of.
-Names that will cause teasing like Dorcas, Bertha, Beulah.

There are probably a few others, but I can't think of any. Hopefully I did not offend anyone. A child can make these names cute.

I agreed that hate is a strong word to use. I dislike the names Michelle and Helen as most of the Michelles and Helens I met were very nasty people.

I think personal associations are the only thing that makes me "hate" a name- I was thinking of my list and it's all across the board as far as style, popularity, and spelling. I used to not like the name Nevaeh, until I met the neatest little girl named Nevaeh- so now I have to smile every time I hear it, even though the actual name is NMS. I used to love the name Catherine, called Katie- but now I know too many Katies that do NOT make me smile when I think about them!
If I don't have a personal association to the name, I tend to dislike names that are harsh sounding or spelled yooneekly.

Olive! The worst (my apologies to everyone who loves this name)! How could this ever have come back "in"? When I was a little girl and we learned that the Osmond family matriarch was Olive, it seemed like an atrocious name!

Another least favorite, Penelope! I know, again, I'm apparently in the minority here...but it just reminds me of someone totally gawky.

Then, Lola really bothers me...sounds like an "exotic dancer" or something and is too popular.

    Lori...just really bugs me.

And also, Agnes is so "old" and ugly-sounding...to me.

Finally, Maple (my sincere apologies) is ridiculous, IMO!

There are some names that I really hate only because they are super popular and I don't understand why.
    Nevaeh, Ava, Brooklyn.

Others I hate, because they are beautiful and have become too popular.
Madeleine/Madeline, Sophie/Sophia, Lily, Olivia, Chloe, Mya and Katelyn,

I had a cat named Bella and used to adore that name. Thank you Twilight for forever ruining it for me... same with Jasper and Alice.

Mostly I hate names that were common when I was growing up.
Melanie, Stephenie, Ashley, Jessica, Jennifer, Julie, Danielle, Stacey, Kelly, Rachel, Anne.

Also hate names that remind me of celebrities or material possessions.
Cruz, Anniston, Bentley, Beckham, Hendrix, Marley.

Yeah its disappointing when a name goes super popular based on a book or movie, like Bella, Jasper, Edward, Alice, etc.; and everyone you mention it to says, "Oh like Twilight?"

    I really don't like...

Extremely misspelled names, like Braedyn, Keytlin, Kaydence and the like.
Too "old lady" names: Gretchen, Dorcas, Gertrude, Bertha, Alfreda, Beulah, Helga, Brunhilda, Hester,...
The -aidens: Aiden, Bradyn, Zaden, Caden, ..
Bella: Isabella is lovely, but Clarabella, Elizabella, Hannabella, Evabella... that type.
Notorious place names: London, Paris, China, Asia, Scotland, Persia..
Megan, Jessica, Sarah, Amber, Kimberly, Kelly..
Pandora, Tillie, Echo, Flora, Eira, Vienna, Rosalind
