    Zara, Linnea, Sylvie?

What are your opinions on these names? They are 3 new ones I've added to my girls list.

Zara - pronounced Zarr-uh. SO cool in my opinion. Very exotic to my ears, but can you see it on a little white girl? There is also the clothing store with this name where I live (but they sell very nice clothes haha).

Linnea - Gorgeous and uncommon too, and I love how it connects to my Scandinavian heritage. I'd be concerned with people pronouncing it Lin-ee-uh or thinking that I "made it up" though.

Sylvie - I think it's a lot cuter/more fresh than Sylvia, which I find kind of dated since I knew an older woman named Sylvia.

    Wdyt? Any good combos?

I like Zara a lot. Linnea is okay but I always pronounced it lin-ee-uh but I see it's suppose to be lin-ay-uh...hmm. Sylvie is just a nickname to me and Sylvia is very pretty. I like Sylvie as a nn for Silvana.

I like all three names! I'd say that Sylvie is my favorite, followed by Linnea (I always forget how much I like Linnea until someone mentions it!) and then Zara.

For your concern about a "little white girl" named Zara, you don't have to look any further than the British Royal Family - Princess Anne's daughter is named Zara.

Combos: I've been really loving Joyce as a middle name lately, and I think Linnea Joyce sounds gorgeous. Sylvie Jane or the previous suggestion of Sylvie Iris would be fabulous. As for Zara, how about Zara Helene?

I love the name Linnea! It's gorgeous!
Zara is pretty cool as well.
Sylvie is alright. It seems like a popular choice on Nameberry.

I love Linnea. It's at the top of my list right now if this little one turns out to be a girl.

Zara is cool, but I wonder if pronunciation would be an issue. Zehr-a or Zhar-a? Although personally that wouldn't stop me from using it. I totally think it's usable and not too exotic.

I really like Sylvie too. It was in the running for my older daughter's name but we ended up going with Sylvan instead. I always figured Sylvie would be her nickname but at almost 3 we havn't used it yet. Maybe as she gets older though!

I really, really like Zara and Linnea. Sylvie not so much. I first heard Zara while shopping in Europe and thought it was such a cool name. I went to school with a girl named Linnea, and once she told people how to pronounce it, there weren't any issues. I would use either name, but my husband vetoed both of them =(. You really can't go wrong with either. I also wouldn't worry about using Zara because exotic names are becoming more common. Good luck!!

I have to say, I love Sylvie! I like Sylvia, too...I know most people think it's dated, but it has a youthful fresh feeling to me, probably because I don't know any older Sylvias. To my mind Sylvie conjures up the image of a sweet little innocent girl. (Tasha Tudor wrote a book about a Sylvie Ann - very sweet children's Halloween story.)
Speculative fiction writer and mother to my handsome baby boy, Charles Theophilus (born 3/11) and sweet Corinna Melisande - Cora for short (born 8/12). I love: boy names with a blend of studious and ancient tones; sweet, intelligent girl names with a touch of fairy-tale innocence.

I like Zara, it means to blossom in Arabic so that is very nice. By the way, Zara is a fairly common name in the UK so I wouldnt really about a white baby having this name I like Linnea too. Sylvie I like the least but its nice
