Zara - pronounced Zarr-uh. SO cool in my opinion. Very exotic to my ears, but can you see it on a little white girl? There is also the clothing store with this name where I live (but they sell very nice clothes haha).

Linnea - Gorgeous and uncommon too, and I love how it connects to my Scandinavian heritage. I'd be concerned with people pronouncing it Lin-ee-uh or thinking that I "made it up" though.

Sylvie - I think it's a lot cuter/more fresh than Sylvia, which I find kind of dated since I knew an older woman named Sylvia.

    Wdyt? Any good combos?
Well, I'm Swedish and the proper pronunciation of Linnea in Swedish would be Lin-ee-uh I like Linnéa and I like Sylvie, but I like Lydia even more. How about Linnea Pearl or Sylvie Rose?

I love them all! Zara and Sylvie are my favorites, but I think all three are stunning, and would actually love to see sisters with the names.

    What about:

    Zara Madeleine
    Zara Juliet
    Zara Caroline
    Zara Felicity

    Linnea Penelope
    Linnea Celeste
    Linnea Pearl
    Linnea Evangeline

    Sylvie Claire
    Sylvie Anais
    Sylvie Rebecca
    Sylvie Isabelle

    Good luck!

I looove the name Linnea but I know what you mean about the Linnea pronunciation. I had a Swedish/American friend called Linnea (lin-ay-uh) and my dad would always make comments about linear rules. So ANNOYING!!

I would like to combine two of your choices to Zara Linnea. I think it's a pretty combo.

I know a white girl (27yrold) named Zara if that helps, and her name suits her. However my vote goes to sylvie

I live in the Midwest and I know at least 7 Linnea's of all ages. No one has ever had pronunciation issues. The name is great and ages really well. Because its such a historical Scandinavian name, I think it feels the most classic, even though it is unusual outside the Midwest.

That being said, I like sylvie the most. It's adorable!

I like all three, but Linnea is my favorite. I am kinda biased though because it is very similar to my middle name L'Nae. I think Linnea is where my parents got the idea, they just didn't know how to spell it ;-) They had friends who were living in Scotland at the time and they came to visit and brought pictures of a Loch Linnea (?? not sure still if this is the right spelling, but it's the closest I could figure out). Anyway, my parents thought the Loch and the name were so pretty that they used it for my middle name and just spelled it like they thought it sounded. Zara is pretty and a little exotic without being unrecognizable which is nice. I like Sylvie too, though I can never choose between Sylvia nn Sylvie, or just Sylvie. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those :-)
