    Challenge: Make Maud feel fresh

Despite its moldy status to most Berries, I really love the name Maud. My problem is finding a combo that makes Maud feel fresh. What first or middle names would you pair with Maud? Maud Carolina or Penelope Maud are ideas I've had before... but neither feels completely right.

ooooh haven't even thought of this name, but it makes me think of Magda & Claudia...2 of my faves and very sophisticated imo. I think I like Maude more than Maud so I'm going with that one. Without the E I see maudlin...so I guess Maud Lynn is a bad idea hahaa. I really like it as a mn. It works well with quite a few of my favorites:

    Beatrice Maude
    Veronica Maude
    Bernadette Maude

I prefer Maud as a middle name, but most of these I think could be reversed and sound great either way. I do think I prefer the spelling Maude though. The E makes it look more complete to me.

    Juliette Maud
    Maud Rosette
    Adele Maud
    Isla Maud
    Julianna Maud
    Imogen Maud
    Maud Eloise
    Florence Maud
    Helena Maud
    Alice Maud
    Maud Beatrix
Millicent Maud (if you like alliteration)
    Maud Violette (vee-oh-let)
    Lyra Maud
    Maud Geneva

Do you like any of these?

I'm having a little trouble jumping on board with Maud, but if I had to do it I like Caroline Maud.

I like Maud although I prefer the French pronunciation "mode"-- but there's no way to enforce this in the US. While I think it's really easy to use as a mn-- Edith Maud is one of my favorites-- I think you could use it as a fn too. Here are some other suggestions (most of which work well when reversed too):

    Maud Agatha
    Maud Amelia
    Maud Aurelia
    Maud Ava
    Maud Beatrix
    Maud Claire
    Maud Camille
    Maud Celeste
    Maud Eleanor
    Maud Eliza
    Maud Felicity
    Maud Jane
    Maud Irene
    Maud Luciana
    Maud Regina
    Maud Victoria
    Maud Rose

I love the name Maud. It's a family name -- we had a beloved cousin named Maud, nn Marbie -- and I love the Tennyson poem, so I vote for Maud Tennyson! ("Come into the garden, Maud, for the black bat, night, has flown...." -- a wonderful poem composed by Michael Balfe, moving rendition by tenor John McCormack).

    Maud Tennyson
    Maud Elinor
    Maud Francesca
    Maud Catherine
    Maud Caroline
    Maud Sophia
    Maud Philippa
    Maud Elisabeth

Princess Martha-Louise of Norway has a daughter named Maud Angelica which I think is quite stunning! Maud/Maude is a variant of Matilda and I love both names. I think I prefer the Maude spelling too.

    Maud Josephine
    Maud Louisa
    Maud Cecily
    Maud Delilah
    Maud Annabel
    Maud Anneliese
    Maud Frances
    Maud Lorelei
    Maud Persephone
    Maud Cassandra
    Maud Rosalie
    Maud Serena
    Maud Veronica
    All the best,
    Mischa.

Some of my suggestions might border on trendy for some. I like Maud Penelope. Personally, I don't think Maud is "mouldy" but I guess a more up-to-date middle name would help it along until it's stylish again.

    Maud Florine
    Maud Harmony
    Maud Avonlea
    Maud Celeste
