What are some place names that you have or have considered naming your boys?

Milan is one I've been thinking about a lot lately... except not pronounced like the city.

I was wondering about Milan too and got put off by the girl's name listing as I thought I had a few too many of those already. It seems strange to me that so many place names are considered girl's names rather than unisex.

Milan is a rare name; I wouldn't immediately put it to one gender or the other.
EDIT: Oops, just looked at its status in the top 1000. Guess it's not that rare. But since it's been in the top 1000 for a boy, I think it's possible for a boy as well as a girl.Last edited by amberdaydream; April 4th, 2012 at 11:40 AM.

Milan as a Slavic name isn't related to the city's name. I don't think Milan is feminine at all, and I'm with you- I think it's strange how many place names are considered female-only.
I still think Milan is really handsome. I watch a lot of hockey and there's a handful of guys in the NHL named Milan... not girly at all to me.Lucia
