    Milan is one I've been thinking about a lot lately... except not pronounced like the city.

    My favourite is Berlin.
    I also really love Dublin and Camden.
    Other place names I like are Aragon, Aspen, Charleston, Denver, Everest, Holland, Nile, Rome, Senegal, Trenton and York.
    Renaming myself;
    something quirky, British and elegant.

    I was wondering about Milan too and got put off by the girl's name listing as I thought I had a few too many of those already. It seems strange to me that so many place names are considered girl's names rather than unisex.

    Milan is a rare name; I wouldn't immediately put it to one gender or the other.

    EDIT: Oops, just looked at its status in the top 1000. Guess it's not that rare. But since it's been in the top 1000 for a boy, I think it's possible for a boy as well as a girl.

    Milan as a Slavic name isn't related to the city's name. I don't think Milan is feminine at all, and I'm with you- I think it's strange how many place names are considered female-only.
    I still think Milan is really handsome. I watch a lot of hockey and there's a handful of guys in the NHL named Milan... not girly at all to me.
