Questions on Huck
Huck has been on my mind a lot lately, and I think I really like it! As much as I like the name, I feel as though it needs a more formal name. I know that there is Huckleberry but that isn't my style. I've also tossed around Huxley, but I'm not commpletely sold. Any other ideas on full names?
Also, what are your thoughts on Huck? Do you think it's usable? Or is it too close to a certain not so pleasant word? (I know someone named Tucker, who often goes by Tuck, and I've never noticed him or his family having an issue with it.)

I think it's fine as a nn, but there will always be the implied association of Huckleberry Finn, especially when he gets to middle school and they read the book. I can't really think of any other full names that would precipitate that particular nn.
Tucker is a nice name, and Tuck is a natural nn from it. Personally, I like Tucker much better than Huckleberry or Huxley.Girls - Abigail, Georgianna, Anne, Charlotte, Claire, Genevieve, Annette, Eliza, Felicity, Hannah, Noelle, Eugenie, Grace, Phoebe, Philippa, Cecilia, Cecily, Elizabeth, Hollis, Piper, Lorelei, Vivienne, Paige, Carolina, Isobel, Lucy, Molly, Georgia, Victoria, Naomi
Boys - Bobby Sparklefritz until H can offer suggestions. Ones I like: Rory, Owen, Tyler, Ian, Elliot, Alexander, Ephraim, Levi, Jacob, Reid, Avery, Nathan, Miles, Jasper, Spencer, Toby, Dean, Philip

Just replied to another thread where they were considering Charles nn Huck. Derived from the common nn Chuck for Charlie, just taking the C off of Chuck to get Huck! Love this idea!
Huxley is also a cool idea - definitely a much more modern vibe than Charles, and much more wearable than Huckleberry!

I don't like Huck by itself, and it's partly because of the rhyming potential. I love Huxley and think of Aldous Huxley, which is great. I think anything with a HU sound at the beginning would be fine for the nn Huck.
