Preppy Names? Like Bryn, but not Bryn

    Hi there.

I want a name like Bryn (ie: not too popular, sort of preppy) for our daughter, but for some reason, something is keeping me from going with Bryn (or Brynn). Any thoughts on not too popular, simple but interesting names? Everyone on this site is so much better than me at names! I want it to be kind of girly...

    Thanks.

My friend's name is Brynne, spelled this way. I think it looks much prettier, but the pronunciation stays the same. She always gets lots of compliments on it.

My first thought was Brooke, Paige or Claire.

Maybe you're turned off of Bryn because, since it's the name that you think of when you think of the style that you're trying to capture, it seems like too obvious of a choice to you? I like Bryn, and funnily enough I went to school with one who very much fit the image that you're describing.

I think that all of the suggestions you've been given so far have been perfect. A few more ...

Wynn / Wynne (Wynnie could be a cute nickname.)
    Sage
    Wren
    Reese
    Blair (or Blaire)
    Sloan (or Sloane)
    Greer
    Ivy
    Tess
    Blythe
    Shea
    Belle
    Quinn
    Britt
    Brenna (or Brennan)
    Harper
    Fife / Fyfe / Fifer / Fyfer
    Eve
    Shea
    Neve
    Rena

Brynn is my niece's name and she is adorable! Other suggestions:

    Remi
    Tess or Tessa
    Maeve
    Pearl
    Margot
    Elle
    Eden
    Chloe
    Cora
    Gwen
    Hallie
    Carys

Also, I know my SIL considered Molly when she was naming Brynn. Good luck!
