How to get name links to show up in posts?

This is probably a silly question, but I've tried to figure it out on my own, and can't seem to get it.

How do you get the links to show up when you mention a name is a post? Do you have to go in individually and and link them all back one by one? That seems rather tedious, especially since lots of times there are a LOT of names being mentioned...

Also, why did How and Do link back, but when I mention actual names it doesn't!? very frustrating.

Amylin, the name linking happens automatically, but you won't see it when you first post; I think you have to post and then refresh the page. But it's part of the magic that our engineer Hugh built into the site (and the reason we switched to the new forum software a few months ago.)

It only links to names that our in our database -- and weirdly, How and Do are names but some different spellings may not be in the db.
