I think Martha is really cute... it's old-fashioned but it will age well. I wouldn't have the courage to use it myself, but you definitely should! Marly / Marlo are cute... do you like Marti? I've heard Mary as a nickname for Martha too. Good luck!

Martha is the name of my best friend's mom, who is a lovely woman. Makes me think of a quiet, sweet, gentle girl.

Marti or Marly are cute nicknames!

Sorry I'm not a big fan of it. Reminds me of Martha Stewart, the Martha Speaks T.V show, or a stodgy old woman feeding birds. But Marly is cute!

Eh, I'm not feeling Martha. I put that in the category of old lady names that aren't ready to come back. Although, I was just at a baby shower today and someone was telling me about their niece named Marta, which I thought was pretty.

Martha is a classic name. It's the name of my dear Irish friend who is in her twenties, and she loves her name. I love Marlo as a nickname too.

I love Martha. I know two! One goes by Maisie. The other goes by Martha. Both are wonderfully quirky and have amazing senses of humor.

If I'd had another daughter, she definitely would have been Martha. It's a family name for me, in the Norwegian side of the family as well as the New England side. I love just plain Martha, but Marty is cute too.

I like Martha but prefer Martina and Marta, personally. I can't shake the old-lady, grandma image behind it. In some cases it is charming, but in others, I just don't find it appealing at all. I want to like Martha but I just can't seem to. Martha in the TV show Castle makes it infinitely more appealing for me, though, haha. I think Maisie and Marley make Martha a lot more appealing, though! This would probably detract from Martha's appeal to you, but I like the idea of something like Martha Evangeline, nn Emmy (from the initials ME) or Marley (Mar from Martha and Ley from EvangeLIne with the leen ending).

    Good luck!
