I love the suggestions of Ivy, Lucy, and Violet. How about Adele, Alina, or Natalie?

We probably violated every rule of naming etiquette, but when we had this happen to us with our daughter Maizie, we went ahead and used it anyway. We'd been planning on using that name for months and months (it was an adoption from China, so longer than a pregnancy) and I wasn't going to let my cousin's use of the name keep us from the name we fell in love with. It was a little confusing for my grandma, I'm sure, but practically speaking, the only time it is even an issue is at family reunions. I wasn't going to let one or two days out of 365 to shoot the name down for us. It's been a non-issue in the long run. Just another take on the situation...

I think after all the effort you put in try and work out a way to keep with Lily. It is beautiful choice.
How about choose a great short mn and when you get together with the wider family/ speak to common relatives call her by fn and mn? Day to day, just Lily of course.
eg Lily Rose, Lily Grace, Lily Belle, Lily Eve, Lily Jane, Lily Joy or Lily Ann

New suggestion for a different name:
Eleni - nn Ellie or Leni

Hello, oh, no, I really feel for you. I loved the name Lily as well but we decided on calling our little girl, due in May, Amelie Mirabelle. We could shorten her first name to Mimi, Le Le or Ame -hope it helps! Good luck x

Milena is lovely! It's on my list too.

You have a few eastern european names on your list, so throwing out a few more:
Ilona (I think this is so pretty and not used enough!)
    Mina
    Natalia
    Denitsa
    Nina
    Nevena

    Lily-like options:
    Lena
Millie (could be short for Milena...)
    Laurel
    Lia
    Layla
    Luna

I agree that you should use Lily anyway. If you really feel the need to change it, I would just change it a little - like Lillian. Just think, you could hunt around for a new name and finally decide on Ruby only to have a co-worker choose Ruby two months later. It happens. Use the name you love!
