Kirby would make a really good first name.

I know a 20-year-old girl named Kirby, and though I thought it was a strange name at first (I too could only imagine the video game), it's grown on me.

I am so surprised that everyone thinks it is a name for a girl. I was quite sure that it was a nice preppie name for a boy. I like it a lot.

No video game connection for me (too old), Kirby vacuum doesn't bother me a bit.

Honestly I think it is a great name! If it goes to the girls I will be a bit sad though.

I didn't even think of the game when I read this post, even though my younger sister was completely obsessed with playing it on her game boy when we were younger!

I also know a girl with the name Kirby, and she is a bubbly, happy, friendly and sassy person, so this name has a great feel to me (hence why it's on my list!).

All I think of is the cute pink character from the game I played as a kid.

Thank you for all your opinions! Coming from MN and being a Twins fan, my association has always been with the baseball player. He was my absolute favorite as a kid and if I could find his jersey somewhere I would still buy it now! I knew about the video game, but the association has never bothered me. The vaccuum cleaner I did not know about, but it also doesn't bother me. I think living in MN most people's association woul be the baseball player... I would be looking to use it as a boy's name, I was surprised to hear about so many girl's with the name. It never occured to me I guess. :P I am starting to think it would be better in the middle spot, but it's not the easiest to pair with. The flow of the name is important to me. I like the idea of Killian with a B middle name and calling him Kirby though! Thanks for the opinions and ideas!
It's going to be a long, hot summer but at the end will be a wonderful prize!
