    Martin

What do you think of Martin? It's my great-grandmother's maiden name and I'm warming up to it as a first name..

I like it a lot as a mn. I want to like Martin as a FN, but it does seem a bit geeky and dated to me, unfortunately (which is strange, since I really like Martina, Marta, Martha, etc.).

I really don't like Martin personally, feels very dated and not ready for a first name comeback, would work great for a middle though!

My son is named Martin. We call him Mars or Martincito. We loved it and still do. Never missed spelled, a classic, saints name, cute hipper nn, a name that can grow into his professional career, and fits him just right. I tell him, Mars, you are so awesome. You are out of this world.

I think it is a quietly classic name.
The only Martin I ever knew was very smart, funny and friendly.

Martin was popular in my era and before (30-40 yrs ago). It's not really too common these days for babies but everyone has heard it and no one will mis-spell it or misunderstand it.

I really like it and it would be my top boy name choice if it weren't for my husband vetoing it
I feel like it's vintage and uncommon enough that he will be the only one in his class, but it's not a weird name.
