I'm wanting opinions on Etta Mae. A double first name.

I am really liking Etta Mae as a first name and wanted some opinions before I share this with my husband.

    Well, here are my thoughts:

1- Etta Mae reminds me of the singer Etta James, which isn't necessarily bad, I just thought I'd let you know. How about Greta Mae? Nora Mae? Stella or Ella Mae?
2- You can switch Mae up to Rae or Fae
3- Now, think of the other names you have with all of these possibilities:
    Nora Rae
    Nora Fae
    Stella Rae
    Stella Fae
    Ella Rae
    Ella Fae
    Etta Rae
    Etta Fae
4- Maybe you could find a way to use Etta as a nickname or middle name, if you'll have one. (Since you'll have a double first name)
You could get Etta as a nickname by the name:
    Loretta
    Marietta
    Nicoletta
    Elisabetta
    Julietta
    Rosetta
    Henrietta
    Antonietta
    Claretta (claire-etta)
    Isabetta (variation of Isabella)

    Hope I helped

I think Etta Mae is great! If it were me, I would change it to Etta Maeve to give the name more of a modern vibe.

I would do the same thing. But Etta Mae is great by itself too.

I think Etta Mae as a double first is so adorable. I really love the name Etta. My husband nixed it or it would be on our list. Short, sweet, and feminine!

Oh, I love that. Etta Mae is so sweet! I love Mae when it's attached to a first name like that. I don't care much for Etta but together it's perfect.

Love it. Would have considered Henrietta or Harriett (nn Etta) if didn't already have a Henry.
