    How is Bridie pronounced?

As a nickname for Brigid I would think it would be pronounced "Briddy" (rhyming with 'pretty').
However, I've heard it pronounce "Bride-y" as well.

    How would you pronounce it?

    Thanks!

I live in Ireland where Bridie is really common amongst the older generation (I even have a Great Auntie Bridie) and I've only ever heard in pronounced BRIDE-ey. Hope that helps
