    WDYT of Alina?

I saw Alina on the other thread, and although I was never fond of Alina before, it seems fresh and I really like it. WDYT of the name Alina? Thanks.

I think it is super pretty! My ex-step mom named her new daughter Alina, so if she and my dad had still been together I could maybe have had a little sister with that name. Lol. My little brother (the son of my dad and ex step mom) said he likes the name, too. Lol.

The only thing is it kind of gets mixed up with Elise and Alise and Leah and Lina. All beautiful names, but easily confused.

Very pretty I love Allie and Lina as nicknames. It's definitely a lovely name. It's always on my long list but always gets cut as it has more of an exotic feel, and less of a vintage feel than most of my other favourites like Penelope and Ivy etc. I'd love to meet a little Alina though

I think it's beautiful. It's Eastern European and very feminine, interesting yet easy to spell and pronounce. I would very much encourage you to use it; I would use it myself if I could!

It's pretty, but I feel like it's annoying sounding. :/ I think it's the -ina ending.
I like Alena, Alaina (Elena) more.

I really like it!! To me it's familiar, but not heard often, pretty, girly (but not too frilly), and easy to pronounce. I've only ever met one Alina, in her 20's. It's on my long list! It's fun to see someone else considering this name - I haven't seen it much here on NB. I would love to meet a little Alina! Another similar name that I just rediscovered is Alana. Just a random thought there!

It's not my style, sorry. I know an Alina and she is nice, but it has always seemed off to me, a bit unbalanced. I'm not sure why. I used to love Aliena, though, which was a character in Shakespeare's As You Like It. I've always heard it pronounced the same but when I asked opinions on it years ago, people told me it would be pronounced like Alien-uh or ah-lee-AY-nah... I don't know, Aliena said like Alina made sense to me, lol. I do think the sound is pretty but I'm not crazy about the spelling.

It's on my top 6 list! Love it, discovered it not too long ago.
