    Katharine, Anna or Georgiana?

Is Katherine / Katharine a classic choice or would you consider it boring?

Secondly, how about Katharine vs Anna (opinions welcome) or even Georgiana (nn Anna, Georgia)?

    Here are my shortlisted:

    Katharine Beatrice Jane
    Georgiana Kate
    Anna Katharine Jane

Many thanks, time is ticking and I like them all equally!

I prefer Katherine to Katharine, but it's a lovely name and we would certainly use it if it weren't my sister-in-law's name. I also prefer Katharine to Anna. I think Anna is more boring than Katharine, but I don't really find either boring. If you are worried about it being "too boring", I would put something a little more different in the middle.

    Katherine Daphne
    Katherine Vivian
    Katherine Myrtle
    Katherine Beatrice
    Katherine Maude
    Katherine Wren
    Katherine Winter
    Katherine Aoife
    Katherine Zara

    Thank you, am considering:

Katharine Beatrice Jane (third name a family name) or (possibly)
    Anna Katharine Jane

I have a serious crush on names like Georgiana, Beatrice but feel too intimidated to use these in first name spot.

    Katharine Beatrice Jane is stunning.

I know what you mean about names like Beatrice and Georgiana in the first name spot, but since it seems like you are planning on using two middles, you can be a bit more adventurous with the 2nd and 3rd names. The only reason I, personally, wouldn't use Anna with Jane is that they have similar meanings. But its not really a big deal.

I'll be honest. I hate the name. It's my niece's name & it drives me nuts. In fact, our whole family hates it. It's classic but it doesn't have the modern timelessness that names like Alice, Olivia, Emma, Josephine, & so many other names rock with style right now.

I love Katherine, I think it's a fantastic name. Kat, Kit, Kate, Katie, Kathy...so many choices! I know a Katherine who pulled Erin out of there!

Katherine Beatrice Jane is my pick!

well, I love both, but i'm going to go to the Anna camp I LOVE Anna, Annie, Anne... So timeless and classic. Not boring or plain at all. My DD is named Annabel Cait, so I call her Annie Cait alot Sort of a combo of your ideas!

Anna is so soothing. We have a very plain, Smith-like last name and Anna is slightly bland with it. But bland isn't bad... Anna is still timeless. Beats Neveah Sparykle Smith.

I find both Katherine and Anna timeless and elegant. Lovely choices. I like Anna a little bit more, more because of associations than because of the name itself though. Conservative to be sure but I think there's a lot of virtue in that where names are concerned. There's virtue in being more adventurous too, but if it's not for you, it's not for you.
