lol @ allyfally....never could figure how billy came from william, or bobby for robert...
and to answer your question, i agree with Peach, my husband's name is James as well, and he's only ever been called James unless his mn gets tagged on which, in the South, it often does
. In any case, I adore the name. It's strong yet sweet. We inverted his full name (James Casey) for our second son, Casey James.

All the James' I've ever known have never had any of those nicknames (I do know a few James nn 'Jamie' though). In fact, I didn't know Jim/Jimmy WERE nicknames for James until joining Nameberry. So I wouldn't worry.
Jem is far cuter, if you want to encourage people to shorten it. Apart from that, you wouldn't run into many problems I don't think.dreaming of future babies...
