    Opinions on Quinlan?

I love the name Quinn, but I'm not sure what I think of this version of it. Does it sound to tryndee? Is the more feminine spelling Quinlyn absolutely atrocious, or sweet?

    Thanks!

I think Quinn would be a perfect name on its own. My second choice would be Quinlan. The y makes it look trendy.

I think that if you love Quinn, just use Quinn by itself. That would be perfectly acceptable.

I don't like either version of Quinlan, but I wouldn't spell it with a Y if i had to choose.

@dantea- Just noticed Elysia on your signature- I love that name, and it doesn't get a lot of love on Nameberry, so it's great to see someone else finally does too!

I've just gotten over Quinn going to the girls- please don't take Quinlan too!

Quinlan, to me, is a name parents who like Quinn for a boy but want something more obviously masculine. To me, it's a boy's name. I like Quinn for a girl on its own. Use that. If you must have a long form, I'd say Quintana, Quintina, or Jacqueline (that's my personal favorite- so unexpected!) And Quinlyn doesn't make it sweeter or more feminine. In my opinion, it just looks a little bit illiterate.

I like the Quinlan spelling better than Quinlyn (even though the Y does feminize it a bit). I think that Quincy is really cute for a girl name and just plain Quinn works too.

Lol! My daughter's name is Quinlan! It's a boy's name usually, but we liked it for a girl. We liked Quinn, but that was too common these days, and I like different names. There was a player on the LA Angels (baseball) named Robb Quinlan and I liked the last name for a boy, but we couldn't come up with a girl's name, we both liked Quinn, and decided to just use Quinlan. My husband liked "Quinnlan" and I hated that, and I sort of liked "Quinlyn" but he hated it, so we just went with the original spelling. I've yet to find another girl with the name. Heard of a few boys, though.

While I do like the name, it does sound masculine to me. I prefer the spelling Quinlan but I do think Quinlyn looks more feminine.

I don't like Quilan or Quinlyn at all, and I think Quinn sounds too masculine.
