My name is Emily St. John and I will start my story when I was a 25 year old, successfully published Historical fiction author. After a cross-country book tour with my good friends and fellow authors, Diana Gabaldon, Phillipa Gregory and Jean Auel, I came home to Denver, Colorado. The first thing I did was jump back into writing my next best-seller. I also had to sign a contract for movie rights from my last book, and deliver my manuscript to my swamped editor.
Fourteen months after I returned home from my book tour, I meet the guy I'd never thought I'd meet outside of my books.
I was rushing to an appointment downtown, multitasking as usual. I had my Blackberry on one hand, a granola bar in the other, a folder full of cover art that I was in the process of approving. I looked down to see if a text sent as I rounded a corner and WHAM! I slammed right in to the most gorgeous guy. My paperwork flew everywhere, I dropped my granola bar, and my Blackberry went skittering into traffic. I bent down to try to gather things and he bent at the same time, and just like in the movies our heads hit and we both ended up on our butts laughing. He eventually introduced himself as Jason Holland and offered to buy me a real breakfast since mine was now in crumbs on the pavement. I told him I was off to a meeting but that he could buy me lunch. We met at Bianca's and had a wonderful time together.
Jason and I were crazy about each other and after 5 months of dating, when he gor transfered to the office in Pennsylvania, we decided to live together, buying a house of the suburbs of Philadelphia.
We had been together for 5 years when he finally asked me to marry him at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve! I spent 7 months planning my tropical paradise wedding, with my readers offering their congratulations worldwide.
