    Thoughts on Mara?

I've been reintroduced to this name recently and I was wondering what all of you thought of it.

I'm not a fan. It is not feminine enough/a little to harsh sounding for my taste. I think of the verb mar, as in to spoil or ruin.

(For full disclosure, I knew a girl in hs named Mara who was an absolute nightmare/bully, so I may just be biased).

I like it, very cute. Slightly prefer just Mary though.

I love Mara. I think it is very sweet but also a little spunky. I can see it suiting a little girl and adult. I would also put an adventurous name in the middle. Mara Evangeline, Mara Winifred, Mara Penelope, etc.
My girls: Grace Patricia "Gracie Pat" & Eloise Martha "Elsie Mae"
If we had a baby today: Moira Jane OR Desmond Walter
Guys: Julian, Amos, Tobias, August, Silas
