It's been over a year. You and your husband, Jonathan, have adopted the children and gotten closer romantically. Your son, James, is now eight years old in second grade and your daughter, Lillian, is now seven years old in first grade. They've also made new friends at school, are honors students, and involved with activities. Somehow, they both get invited to sleepovers on the exact same night and they plead so much that you and your husband agree to let them go. The two of you have had plenty of opportunities home alone, but never for so long. To say it's awkward would be an understatement.

The night your kids are at their sleepovers, you're on your way to bed and go down to your husband's study to say good night. He's still sitting at his desk, working. It's late and you tell him to go to bed. He says he will, as soon as he's finished. You go up to your own bedroom (the two of you sleep in different rooms), get into bed, and turn the lights out. You toss and turn for an hour until you realize you never heard your husband come up the stairs. You get out of bed and go back downstairs to find him in the living room, staring at the TV. He says he's been having difficulty falling asleep for some time now and it feels worse tonight because the kids aren't in the house. You sit next to him on the couch and watch TV for thirty minutes before he starts to doze off, resting his head on your shoulder. You can't help but think about how vulnerable he looks sleeping and run your fingers through his black hair and kiss his forehead. He opens his eyes and looks up at you. He says you're the most beautiful woman...and he kisses you on the lips.

The next morning, the kids return home to discover you and your husband are now sleeping in the same bedroom and are making plans to go on a honeymoon.

When you return from your vacation 4 weeks later, you find out you're pregnant with you and your husband's first child. Nine months later, to your daughter's delight, you have a baby girl!

2 years later, your adopted son, James, is 10, your adopted daughter, Lillian, is 9, and your youngest daughter, Arabella, is 2. You and your husband decide to try for another baby and after 6 tries, you get pregnant. This time, you have boy/girl twins.
