I love the name Sorcha. I don't see any problems at all with the last name King (I'm pronouncing Sorcha like Porsche with an S - is that correct?)

I think it is much more distinct than Sophie and won't feel as dated in 10 -15 years.

I also prefer the Sorcha spelling. I have no instinct on how to pronounce Saoirse, even though I know this name and have been a active member of this website for a few years now. The Saoirse always causes me to stumble.

Thanks for everyone's comments. I also love Saoirse, but thought it would be too hard in America. I also like Ciara, but don't think it goes with King. We will keep looking too.

LOL - so obviously Sorcha will not be intuitive to americans!! And I now understand all the comments about Orca!

Orla would be a natural alternative. What about Sorrel or Sorelle?
