    40 Years Later…
You are now 76 years old. Your children are all grown up and have their own families, and your beloved husband Henry has just passed away after a long struggle with lung cancer. You and your husband had moved to Cornwall after your children had left the house in London, but after your husband’s death you decided you wanted a change and moved to Sydney, Australia where your eldest daughter Evelyn had moved shortly after graduating from high school. Your children are spread all across the globe.

Your eldest son, William had done very well at school and decided to study medicine like his father had. He got into Harvard Medical School, and moved to Boston. He met a girl called Anna Violet McAlistair who was doing the same degree as him. She had been raised in Boston, and had flaming red hair. They had married at her family’s home in New Hampshire six years after meeting, and soon after they had a little girl. They named her Kathleen Orla Moore, with her middle-name honouring Anna’s Irish heritage. Two years later, another little girl arrived, Keira Rose Moore. Keira shares her mother’s beautiful hair colour. Within two years another baby girl had arrived, Laura Elizabeth Moore. You felt very honoured when you first heard she shared your name. Three years later, a boy arrived to the relief of William, who had been starting to get overwhelmed by the amount women in his house. He was named Thomas William Moore, and was the last of William and Anna’s children to be born. The family still lived in Boston, where your son and his wife both worked as highly esteemed doctors. Their own children were beginning to venture out into heir own lives, with the eldest, Kathleen having just graduated from Harvard Law. The second eldest Keira had moved to Baltimore, Maryland to attend the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Your son’s third daughter Laura was training to become a veterinarian at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York while your grandson Tom was still in high school. It looked like he would become a doctor as well though.

Your daughter Evelyn wasn’t quite as studious as her elder brother, and decided to go travelling before going to university. She left right after high school, and came to a stop in Sydney, Australia. You didn’t really understand the appeal until you found out about the handsome Aussie mechanic Malcolm Ian Black she was dating. Soon enough, Evelyn fell pregnant and she hastily married her mechanic. He was a good man, and looked after your daughter and their son Andrew Maloclm Black well. Three years later a daughter Amanda Bronwyn Black arrived, and two more later another son Graham Henry Black. Your husband Henry was delighted, Evelyn always was a daddy’s girl. Malcolm’s mechanic business was quite successful, and when all of the kids were at school Evelyn began working as a beautician after doing a course. Their eldest son Andrew loved playing rugby at school, and after finishing school and travelling a bit he began training to play professionally. He eventually made it to the Australian team, where he is one of the most adored players. He also studied to become a builder. Andrew got married his year to his long-time girlfriend Maureen April Philips and they are now expecting a baby. Your granddaughter Amanda went to university in Sydney to become a journalist and now writes a column for the Sydney Herald. She has a boyfriend, Nicholas Dimitrios Metaxas whose family migrated from Greece to Australia, who you like very much. The baby of the family, Graham studied to be an engineer and moved to Adelaide for a job he couldn’t resist. You love living in Australia with its beaches and heat, and your daughter’s family!

James, your second son, stayed in London and studied to become a lawyer at the City Law School. After completing his degree he moved to Beijing, China where he got a job at a prestigious law firm. The fact that he had studied Mandarin was a help. He met a woman there called Angeline Xiang Zhou, who was the daughter of a high-up Beijing lawyer and his American wife. They married in a traditional Chinese ceremony, and had their first child, a boy, two years later. He was named Jonathan Li-Qing Moore. A brother was born two years later, and named Vincent Xun-Wei Moore . (Son’s name) and his family visited you and your husband regularly. Tragedy struck in 1979 when your son’s beloved wife was killed in a car accident. The eldest of your twins, Robert had always been good at maths, and so studied to become an accountant in London. He worked as an accountant for about five years, before deciding it wasn’t for him. He went to Teacher’s College and trained to be a high school maths teacher. At Teacher’s College he met a gorgeous French woman named Delphine Marie DuBois They married shortly after finishing their degrees and then moved to Paris where they both taught at an English speaking school. Robert taught maths, and Delphine taught French Language. They had some fertility issues and eventually decided to adopt. A precious little girl was brought into the family.
