    Water Names!

I'm writing a book that is centred around a big group of mermaids, and I need some water/ocean related names for both boys and girls. A few in the realm of the obvious is fine, (the obvious being something like Pearl or Oceane), but I would also love some names that maybe mean water in another language or something like that.
    I really appreciate the help!
    Thanks Berries! TTFN!

    Re: Water Names!

Oooo! I adore mermaids! Have you seen The Little Mermaid? You could sneak in names from there:
Ariel (I LOVE LOVE LOVE this name!!!)
Athena (Ariel's passed mom and Greek goddess of wisdom, among other things)
    Attina (One of Ariel's sisters)
    Arista (")
    Alana (")
    Andrina (")
    Aquatta (")
    Adella (")
    Triton (Ariel's father)
    Sebastian (The crab)
    Eric (Ariel's husband)
    Melody (Ariel & Eric's daughter)
    Ursula (Gasp! The sea witch!)
    Marina (the prequel's villain)
Atlantica (the undersea kingdom Ariel lived in)

Off the subject of a Disney movie I'm obsessed with...
Poseidon/Neptune (The Greek/Roman god of the sea. If you want to be funny to those of us who like mythology, make him Athena's boyfriend)
Pacifica (it means calm and relates to the Pacific Ocean)
    Aqua
    Agua (Spanish for water)
    Bay
    Brook/Brooke
    Cordelia nn Cora/Delia
    Harbor
    Hudson (a river)
    Jordan/Jordyn
    Misty
    Rainey
Rio (Spanish for river, and who doesn't love that song?)
    Thames (a river)
    Wade
Annabeth Quinn • Anneliese Juliet • Bethany Laura • Bridget Rose • Iris Theodora • Isadora Lily • Isannah Clare • Isla Charlotte • Ivy Jane • Sarah Wren • Susannah Beth

Andrew Liam • Benjamin Levi • Daniel Tobias • Emmett Lucas • Eric Charles • Kenneth Ian • Nathan Christopher • Owen Miles • Timothy Bram • Theodore Penn

    Re: Water Names!

Hi, me again. I just thought of some more names. One is from the movie Splash where a mermaid saves a guy who has trouble saying "I love you" and finally says it to her. Her name's Madison, er, sorta. She takes the name from a street sign in New York.
Here are some other names that I failed to mention:
    Sandra nn Sandy
    Shelley/Shelby/Shella/Sheila
    Lago (Spanish for lake)
    Mar (Spanish for sea)
Ola (I think it's Spanish for wave, and it sound like hola, which I find funny)
Sirena (Spanish for mermaid (I'm Hispanic, can ya tell?))
    Flow/Flo
    Nemo (from Finding Nemo)
    Coral
Aquarius (I know it's an astrological sign, but I'm fairly certain it means water bearer)
    Amphitrite (Poseidon's wife)
Percy (from Percy Jackson & the Olympions, a son of Poseidon)
Annabeth Quinn • Anneliese Juliet • Bethany Laura • Bridget Rose • Iris Theodora • Isadora Lily • Isannah Clare • Isla Charlotte • Ivy Jane • Sarah Wren • Susannah Beth

Andrew Liam • Benjamin Levi • Daniel Tobias • Emmett Lucas • Eric Charles • Kenneth Ian • Nathan Christopher • Owen Miles • Timothy Bram • Theodore Penn

    Re: Water Names!

Holy... thank you so much! That's a LOT of names! I like Pacifica, Rio and Marina a lot, and I may take Poseidon and shorten it to Posy on a girl.
Thanks again! Anything else anyone else has would be great to, as I always tend to overboard with characters and end up with a million of them!
    TTFN!
