16 and Pregnant Baby Names

Most of the names seem normal/average or typical regardless of age (the names reflect their location/heritage more than age). I know Sophia is popular, but I just love the name. Sophia Laurent is pushing it. Maybe the teen mom has never heard of Sophia Loren and thought it had a nice ring not realizing there is an icon with the name. What next, Audrey Harper?

ashleyl - Kylee Sue is from a newer episode, I think the moms name was Cleondra? Her whole family had different names, I can't remember her siblings names right now. I know her sister had a daughter named Zahra. I guess Kylee is kind of weird for her to choose then, with everyone around her having such unique names.

Bentley Cadence - I haven't ever heard Cadence used for a boy, but I think in this case it has a nice ring to it. And love the name Bentley, and after the show it was a rising name.
Sophia Laurent - No offense to anyone, but I absolutely hate the name Sophia. Sophie is okay, but something about ending it with an "uh" just bothers me.
Leah Leann - Seriously? Leah isn't a bad name, but come on.
Jocelyn Jade - I'm not a fan with fn and mn both starting with the same letter, but I do like the name Jocelyn, and I'm surprised a girl from 16 and Pregnant would pick such an older name.
Weston Owen - I love both names, but don't sound good together at all.
Carolynn (Carly) Elizabeth - Another old fashioned first name. All in all, I'm not a fan of Carolynn or Carly. And Elizabeth is a very overused name.
Jace Vahn - I love this one, I've never heard Vahn used before and I think it just goes very well together.
Lyle Thomas - Not a huge fan of Lyle.
Neveah Lynn - I get that she was trying to be creative, spelling "Heaven" backwords, but honestly this name just sounds made up and I odn'tl ike it at all. Plus, that's a lot of meaning in a name to put on a child's shoulders.
Aubree Skye - Aubree sounds like something a teenage girl would pick. It's "modern" or whatever. Honestly, I just don't like it.
Aidan ? (unknown) - Most common name used ever since Jon and Kate started.
Jordynn Amelia Marie - Love the middle names, not a fan of Jordynn, but I do agree that if it is a girl, it should be spelled prettier. Because "Jordan" is just kind of ugly for a little girl.
Brooklyn Marie - Again, very teenager like. Not bad names, just very young.
Aliannah Hope (often goes by Ali) - This one sounds wayy too made up for my liking. It also seems like it has way too many letters in it?
Aleeah Grace (Aliannah's twin) - To me this seems just a little lazy.
Summer Jayde - I like both names, but to me they just don't flow very well together.
Isaac Elliot - Again, I like both names. They just aren't good put together.
Brody Ryan - I love the name Brody. Not such a fan of the mn, but it doesn't sound horrible.
Genesis Alexia - I'm sorry, but I just don't like this name. And it is very strongly linked to the Bible. Not putting down anyone naming their child from the Bible, but from the show I definitely don't think they did it for that reason.
Liam Allen - Love the name Liam, doesn't go well with Allen.
Za'Karia Sanari (often goes by Kari. said like car - ee) - Very exotic.
Austin Carter - I think these two names go very well together. Kind of plain, though.
Destiny Brianna - Don't care for the mn.
Rylan Jayce - I actually really like these two. Rylan isn't that common and it's catchy.
Blake Ray - I think this one could have used a better middle name. It sounds funny because they both are one syllable.
Callie Danielle - I don't mind this name. Callie kind of reminds me of a little girl, not a name that a grown woman will have.
Noah James - Love
Joshua (Jr) Devan - I'm not a fan of Jrs, but the names go well together.
Noah Matthew (Joshua's twin) - Love this.
Miah Christina (my - ah) - I'd change the mn, but the fn is good.
Kylee Sue - This sounds like a name a five year old girl would have. And yes, it will be cute while she's younger.. but can you picture a 50 year old woman with the name Kylee Sue? To me, this name is just too young.
Preston Michael - Ick.
Enrique Jairo - Not horrible.

I don't think I'm really a fan of any of these names, but I do remember being horrified while watching the episode where Joshua (Jr) Devan and Noah Matthew (Joshua's twin) were born (I can't remember their mother's name). To me, it is cruel when you are having same sex twins to give one a namesake (Jr.) and the other not. Not to mention that the father was horrible and actually ended up putting his hands on the mother at the end of the episode. I think those boys should have each got their own names, free from associations with their (possibly) dead beat father.

I guess several of them are okay, but.... I didn't know I could dislike a name more than I disliked Nevaeh until I started seeing it spelled Neveah. Heaven backwards is bad (still makes me think Hell), but Heaven mispelled backwards is even more heinous.

amandachristine - I completely agree with you about Joshua and Noah! At first, I felt sorry for Noah because he didn't get to share a family name. Now, I feel sorry for Joshua because he does!

mjeezy13 - I easily could of misspelled Nevaeh, but I'm not sure on that one. I'm going to take the blame for that one, and I do agree with you that Neveah is even worse than Nevaeh. I blame my typing instincts.

Don't worry, vaness1, I'm totally guilty of watching that show too. My favorite part of every episode is when they tell the name of the baby. It usually is the decision point of whether or not I like the mother. I usually make the decision based on the name whether the mother will end up neglecting her child and going to jail or being a great mom. Does that make me a bad person?

Some names have a good ring to them and make it obvious that their teen parents put a lot of effort into it. Bentley Cadence, Lyle Thomas, Isaac Elliot, Rylan Jace, and Preston Michael all strike me as well thought out names.

Other names seem to reflect a lack of thinking it through. I would blame the lack of development of the frontal lobe, but I'm not much older than these girls and I'm sure that I would do a much better job. Sophia Lorent's mother (Farrah) should have probably googled her daughter's name or run it past a few people. Leah Leann, Neveah Lynn, Aliannah and Aleeah (far too many vowels for the poor twins!), and Blake Ray just make me shudder.

I also agree with you, vaness1, Austin Carter ALWAYS reminds me of Aaron Carter. I thought I was crazy and was the only one who noticed it. I think it's a generational thing. I definitely owned Aaron's Party. I can't imagine how this girl the same age as me didn't seem to notice that...

One name that was good was Brody, but it made me cringe that it was a "perfect mix" of the parents' names, Brooke and Cody. Too cutsey... haha.

Welll here's my thoughts.

Bentley Cadence- Never liked Bentley, and with Cadence the whole thing's gender ambiguous.
Sophia Laurent - pretty
Leah Leann- wth? Leah is nice, but come onnn
Jocelyn Jade- cheesy. Jocelyn is ok, especially if it's "josie" etc. but i despise Jade.
Weston Owen- love Weston, but Owen isn't a good match to it. too many n's.
Carolynn (Carly) Elizabeth- gorgeous, though i like caroline even better.
Jace Vahn- too short. not a fan of jace.
Lyle Thomas- actually a very nice name.
Neveah Lynn- horrid.
Aubree Skye- Aubry sounds redneck already and especially with that spelling and that middle name.
Aidan ? (unknown)- one of many aiden's? very expected.
Jordynn Amelia Marie- I think it's cute. not something i would pick but not the worst on the list.
Brooklyn Marie- brooklyn is trend-city. marie is a boring, overdone filler name.
Aliannah Hope (often goes by Ali)- how to pronounce? not a fan of "ali" nn.
Aleeah Grace (Aliannah's twin)- ohhh, this is the twin? thumbs down.
Summer Jayde- the combination of these two names is what makes it tacky. Jayde again.
Isaac Elliot- cute.
Brody Ryan- not bad.
Genesis Alexia- not my style, but sounds like she put some thought into it at least.
Liam Allen- i like liam although it's popular. liam allen is a winner for me.
Za'Karia Sanari (often goes by Kari. said like car - ee)- no.
Austin Carter- I like it but she could have picked a better flowing name. Austin Carter seems abrupt.
Destiny Brianna- cheesy, teen-tastic.
Rylan Jayce- don't like rylan because of the confusion with ryan, which i prefer anyway over rylan. jayce, jade, jayde are sooo popular with these kids.
Blake Ray- brings to mind billy ray cyrus. sounds undereducated like billy bob, or bobby ray.
Callie Danielle- this is cute.
Noah James- nice.
Joshua (Jr) Devan- it's ok i guess. never been a big fan of devan / devin / devyn.
Noah Matthew (Joshua's twin) - i like it.
Miah Christina (my - ah)- it's not pretty, not ugly. just bland.
Jamie (Jr) ? (unknown)- ?
Kylee Sue- it's whimsical but doesn't quite make the cut because of the "trendee" Kylee..
Preston Michael- cute, but preston will always remind me of britney spears' child.
Enrique Jairo - sounds very ethnic..
