    Amsale

So I just found this new show on TV called Amsale girls. Its about this lady named Amsale (ahm Sal ah) has this upscale design wedding dress boutique. Anyway I had never heard the name before and was interested in everyone's opinions. Any additional information on its history or what it means would be greatly appreciated.

I think Amsale is too much of a brand name now to use as a person name. If it were a more commonly used name in the US i think it wouldn't have gone to brand name so quickly.

Anyone who looks through bridal magazines would know the name Amsale. She has some gorgeous wedding dresses. Amsale Aberra is originally from Ethiopia. It has a pretty sound but its uniqueness as a brand name would make me wary of considering it for a child's name.
    All the best,

I've actually never heard this either (though I guess I don't really look through bridal magazines) so I didn't get 'brand' at all. However, just looking at the name, I see 'am sale' which makes me think of a child for sale. The prn is lovely though, if I could get around the spelling--it reminds me of Bardot that way.
