Re: Middle name for Nina?
Wow, you all are amazing! I am writing up a list of all the options and I am going to attack my husband. :-)
I do like Simone - my maiden name is Simon, so it would have been perfect. We did know of Nina Simone (ironically, our boy name is Miles, and Miles Davis is another jazz musician!). I think we'll save Simon for a boy's mn (not Miles though) - or my sisters can use it.
I like Giselle too. I will ask him about that one. We are New England Patriots fans, so Giselle immediately makes me think of Tom Brady's baby's mom.... But it's a very pretty name! We have not considered this one.
Several others have been nixed b/c they are relatives' names (Evelyn, Laurel, Meredith, Elizabeth, Michelle) or ex-gf's names (Camille, Claire) or b/c DH thinks the name rhymes with something (Celeste/Molest). :-) I have still offered them up b/c I think they are all pretty.
Thank you again. I will reply with his comments (he's very "no" happy....who would have thought he'd have such a strong opinion on all this??). :-)

Re: Middle name for Nina?
Ok....we managed to add a few to our list.
Frances (his mom's mn)
Lillian (sorta flower-y)
His favorite is still Violet, which I just don't care for. My favorite is still Catherine, but it's his sister's mn and he doesn't want to "honor" her like that (they get along fine, he just doesn't want to start anything w/ siblings and jealousy, which I can understand....). He doesn't want to give a girl a maiden name as her mn - he wants it to be a girl's name.
He does like Beatrice, says he can call her Nina B. And he loves Penelope, but is saying he'd want to use that as a fn for another girl b/c he wants a Penny.
I like all of them ok.
But. I don't feel strongly about ANY of them. Is that normal? I asked, what if we just skipped on a middle name, just gave her a first name? He is ok with that.
My all-time favorite name ever is Grey. I wanted to name my daughter that from when I was in 8th grade (that's 1992!!). I still like the name. I think that means it has stood the test of time for me! When Greyson/Grayson started to get popular, I was thinking, oh goodie, I can use Greyson and call her Grey, it will be less weird. But like I said, my husband wants a "real" name for her middle name.
Should I push it with him? He's pretty open to ideas and suggestions. Do you like Nina Grey R@nnenberg? The initials aren't that bad?
(All this work and we aren't even finding out the gender!)
THANK YOU!!!
