3rd baby
My husband and I will be ttc this summer. We have a son and daughter. Our son is named for his father, Douglas (No middle name). He a "third". It was not my first choice, but it meant the world to my husband, and now I can't imagine my son with any other name. My daughter is Lila Brooke. I love her name, and I have loved it since before I had kids. I found a list of my favorite names I wrote down when I was first dating my husband (LOL~ PSYCHO!!!!!!) and Lila was the first one written down...8 years ago. So, although I gather from perusing this site, I may not be terribly cool because my kids have very straightforward type names, I still thought I would try to get some input!
My hubs is not down with Calyxta or Axl type names...lol! (Nothing wrong at all with them, we just aren't...wait for it....hipsters!!
Oh, for a boy, I adore the name Charles nn Charlie. I think it goes with Dougie & Lila, however, my husband recently lost his best friend/cousin, and we want more than anything to use his name for a boy, which is Jason. Does that go with Douglas & Lila?? Charles Jason doesn't really work. Help?? Girls names I love Eva, Michalea, Clara, Ivy. My choices are more mainstream, looking for ideas/middle names?? My top pick for a girl is Eva Claire or Ivy Juliette. Thoughts?? Thanks for the input!!

I am not very good at suggesting names but I can give you my opinion on what you've suggested. I LOVE Eva Claire! Both names are seem to be becoming more popular, but I'm like you and I lean towards classic, elegant names. I think it goes wonderfully with Lila Brooke (which is beautiful, too!). As far as Jason, for some reason it doesn't seem to match with Lila and Dougie, it does seem to fit the middle name spot better. I think Charlie and Dougie are too rhyme- y and would be hard to say all the time, just my opinion. Hopefully some of the folks can give you some great suggestions for a first name that suits Jason. Good Luck!

I think Jason Charles could definitely work with Douglas and Lila. I think Douglas and Charles are a little too similar to both be first names. For girls, I love Eva with Lila and Douglas. Ivy is a good fit but I don't like how the long I is repeated in Lila - this may not bother you though in which case I think Ivy Juliette is a beautiful combo.
Good luck!

Thanks for the input! I agree that Jason doesn't really seem to go with Dougie & Lila. Trying to figure out how to work it in if we have a boy! It's definitely important to use it somewhere in a boys name, whether first or middle. Girl names are much easier for me to decide on!

Re: 3rd baby
Good point on the long I sound. Ivy is also the name of my cousin's daughter, but I have always loved it. She got to it first, darnit! I will probably be reluctantly removing it from my list. The thing going for Ivy IMO was that it's cool and pretty without being too popular, unlike Eva which seems to be rapidly climbing the charts! Still STUMPED on boy names!!!

I love your daughters name. Lila Brooke is super sweet and goes perfectly with Douglas.
Charles Jason doesnt flow bad imo. I love the name Charles btw. What was your hubsands cousins mn? Maybe that would work better.
Off your girls like I love Eva with Lila. Eva is getting more popular but I still love it.

Re: 3rd baby
My favorite girl's name is Eden--and I think it goes well with Lila & Douglas!
As for Jason, I know a lot of guys with the given name 'Jason' that go by Jay instead. I tend to prefer the full given name of 'Jay' to 'Jason'.
Jase is also a name/mn to consider!
I like Charles Jase--Personally, I think it flows a lot better than Charles Jason.
Best,
L.In current favor of...:
Boys: Abel, Ian, Eamon
Girls: Mary, Lena, Marin
