I really hate this name and especially on a little girl!

I'm sorry, but this is awful - absolutely hideous. What looks or sounds feminine about this? I don't understand.

Breccan (for a boy!) only and preferably in a family with lots of other sympathetic gaelic names too.

sounds a bit made up to me, but hey anything goes these days it seems. I am not a big fan of the trendy 'Y' substitutions either.

I don't find the sound of it attractive (or the spelling), especially on a girl.

I named my daughter Breckyn because she was conceived outside Breckenridge, CO. I love the name but didn't really want to name her exactly like the town. I never looked up the meaning of the name. I don't think I have ever met any one saying they named their kid a name because they liked what the name meant or changed it because they didn't like the origin. Does the general public really care about that stuff anymore? I see some people on this board do. I always remember people will different names...those are the people I will never forget.

I've never heard Breckyn before, but I did meet a little girl named Brecca this summer, needless to say her name facinated me
