    F boy names needed

    Hi Berries,

I am a long-time lurker, but have never posted before. I'm looking for a boy's name that starts with the letter F. We are French-Canadian and need a name which works in French and English. I have been thinking about this for years, but I need fresh ideas.

    I like :
    Félix (or Felix)
    Fernand / Ferdinand (too outdated?)

    Can't use but like:
    François
    Frédéric

    Thanks,

    V.

I've always loved Fitch! What do you think?

The letter "F" doesn't have a lot of choice even without the criteria of cross cultural usuage. Is there any reason why you are limiting names to one letter? I don't mind Felix or Fernand from your list but here are some others that I've managed to find. Good luck!
    Fabian / Fabien
    Flavian / Flavien
    Florian / Florien / Florentin
    Fabrice
    Faust / Fauste
    Franchot i/o Francois
    All the best,
    Mischa.

I came to suggest Felix, but I see that you already like it. I love how it works so well in both languages and I find it to be a very distinguished name on both a child and an adult. Love it.

    Re: F boy names needed

The F names are a family tradition for DH. Only the first born boy will have an F name. I know that it is a tricky letter.

My worry with Felix is popularity (8th in Quebec). It is a fairly traditional name amongst French-Canadians, but I now see it all over Nameberry.

Fitch is not my style, although I once considered Fisk.

Fabien is ok -seems too feminine.

Ford is a family name on my side, but too anglo. Do you agree?

Francois is probably my favorite but already taken by my father-in-law.

If we don't have any boys, I agreed to an F mn for a girl.
    Favorites:
    -Fiona
    -Florence (mega popular in Quebec)
    -Flavia
    -Flavie

    Other favorites for boys
    -Adrien
    -Antoine
    - Sebastien
