    Re: Name sightings

Today at the orthodontist I saw a patients list, and one girl was named Ireland. Her picture looked like she was about 8. It was an interesting name sighting...

@agirlinred: It's definitely amazing how one handsome face can totally change your outlook on a name. I met a student's adorable little brother. He's 15, tall, blond, charming and (I'm told) way cute. And his name is Albert. Not Al, not Albie... Albert. Yet it's perfect for him.

The flip side of that coin is that names I previously loved can be forever destroyed by one rotten student who leaves me cringing every time I hear that name. (Thanks, Antonia!)

Some of my friends/acquaintances kids names:

    Girls:
    Athena
    Charlotte
    Charleigh
    Savannah

LOVE Athena and Charlotte, not too thrilled about Charleigh and Savannah.

    Boys:
Coltyn (I love the name spelled Colton, I don't really like the Y)
    Xavier (they call him X)
    Asher
    Damian

I like all of the boys names.

    Re: Name sightings

I forgot to list the names of the boys on my brother's baseball team! I was really shocked to hear some of their names, seriously. My brother is Jake (he has the most average name on the team, that I know of), and everyone on the team is about 13-14 years old.

    Baseball Team:
    Randy
Carlton (his sister is Tressa, she's 16)
Xavier (I call him Professor X, like X-Men)
Thor (Yes, that is for real! He was a pitcher, and whenever the catcher caught the ball, I would imitate thunder and lightening.)

That's all I know for now, but when I find out everyone else, I'll post here.
