Are they pronouncing Helene the French way, like 'eh-lehn'? If so, I would go with Anne Helene, since Anne is also French. It's a lovely name!

I like Anja-Helene, I think that given she is using Helene instead of Helen, go all out and be totally exotic with Anja!! I prefer the sound of Anja-Helene better too.

    Good luck to them!! :)

I dislike Anja, because it sounds like "on ya".

    Imagine the conversations:

    "I'm gonna get Anja."
    "No, no, I'll get Anja."
    "So who is getting Anja?"

Read out loud for the full effect.

    Therefore, I vote Anne-Helene

@gmarie: I had to show my friend this and we just couldn't stop laughing.

@Isis Rose: they are pronouncing it the french way, since Helene is the grandmother's name and she is french.

Personally I like the name bc it's not as overused as Anne or Ann but I think it has a strong sound when pronouncing it
