    Camilla/Camila

How do you pronounce this name? Do you pronounce them the same, or differently?

I'm trying to decide if I like ca-MIL-la or ca-ME-la better.
Also, I'm curious what other people normally pronounce them to be. I think my gut reaction is to say ca-MIL-la, but I sorta like the idea of being able to nn her Mila (MEE-la).

BTW -- not pregnant, just obsessed ;)

I agree 100% - I would say it with the mill sound but I wish I didn't so I could use nn Mila (with the mee sound). I would pronounce Camilla and Camila the same, although I would wonder why Camila only had one L. One option is to use Camille and nn Mila because at least Camille has the mee sound.

Camilla is Cuh - mill- ah and Camila is Cah - mee- lah. Camila is the Spanish version.

I say Camila Cah-MEE-la and Camilla Cah-MIL-yah. I prefer Camila, until I looked the popularity charts. Camila is now at 79! I've never ven met a Camila.

I think I'm prefering Camille now.

Thanks everyone! I said the names out loud to my husband a few times this weekend. I have decided that I like Camille the best :)
