    IS Elisa pronounced the same as Eliza?

    My guess is ,they are pronounced the same way.

    I would pronounce them differently.
    Elisa to rhyme with Lisa
    And Eliza like Eliza.. Eliza doesn't really rhyme with anything...
    The i in Eliza is like I as in 'I am'

    Nope.

    Either "EE-lees-ah" or "uh-LEE-sah" vs "uh-LIE-zah."

    I'm not sure how you could get them pronounced the same at all! Elisa is eh-LEE-sa and Eliza is eh-LYE-za.

    Thanks irisrose,yeah you're correct.It's just I read somewhere recently of eliza 'spelled with an S' and this got me curious as to their origins and pronounciations.thanks again.
