    Maverick?

I recently saw someone suggested Maverick for a girl. I'm a fan of boy names for girls as it is, so naturally I was intrigued.
It's a little out there I must admit... what are your thoughts?

I think its ridiculous for either gender if I'm honest. A 'maverick' is not the sort of person I'd want a child to be named for.

Not a fan. My brother in law named his dog Maverick.

Maverick would just open the poor kid up for ridicule and Sarah Palin jokes (though I pray she's soon forgotten). And since no one would take her seriously, she'd just have to change her name later.

I probably wouldn't use Maverick on a girl cuz the "rick" sounds too masculine, but Mavi is a cute option if you like short names.
